That's because we live closer to Bush.
Just kidding, what do I know about politics?

Soleus Is Back For Act II
Started really bothering me today. I backed off and ran 6 miles at 45:00. I will tell you that I will now a) warmup, b) take in fluids, c) stretch for my 7 mile run at YMCA. This was another crap run. It will never end. Never end. Yes, we are cursed. I will bike for an hour tonight and do Pilates. I have 11 miles this week.
ART For Today
Going for ART this morning. It is just a niggle in the soleus, but I want to catch it early. I am going to ease up on the 7 miler this afternoon with an 8 minute pace. I do not want to hurt it further.
Contemplating
I should be ok. I can feel the knot, but I should be ok. I was thinking of going 5 miles today just to feel it out. Drop in a 39:30 and call it day. My DC told me to take the day off, but I think I am ok for 40 minutes. I will go back to wearing the sleeve over it with Bio-Freeze on it. That should immobilize it.

80 degrees this morning...76 dewpoint...is it September 5th yet?

I have no idea what a GFS model is or what 6z stands for...is that 6oz of water because it felt like 6 gallons of water sitting on my chest this morning?

GFS
[quote="Joel H"]
GFS is the operational model for the NWS. It takes all factors in account from climate and geography.
The 6z is the time it is run during the day.

What time is 6z...is that zulu (sp?) time or whatever it is called or is it the time in Star Trek?

Texas: The Land Of The Turning Desert
Yes, we are. Thank you. From El Paso to Houston and from San Antonio, we are desert. Woo Hoo. Sigh. The runs were ok. Just hot and humid. I am tired of this, but complaining does not make it better. 39:30 for 5 miles for yesterday. It was ok. Knot was there, but livable. Today, 39:30 for 5 miles and again, there. I had to massage it out three times, but at least I am running. That gives me 21 miles for the week. I want to run today, but we shall see if I can massage the knot out with the Stick. If I can, we are a go.

Pilates Today
Did Pilates today. I did not run yesterday afternoon, but that is ok. My knot in my leg has really reduced in size. Gunning for 7 miles today, but can live with 5 miles. Looking at a ramp up workout from 7:54 pace to 7:14 pace for 7 miles. Otherwise, grading finals and research papers for grades that need to be turned in by Monday. Next week should be back to normal. I will go for ART at least once next week and with intersession, that should be easier. The run will start at 4 pm.
Re: Clawing My Way Back
ART once a week? Interesting. I have been stingy with myself about going. Maybe if I went once a week I'd get well. I have been sort of waiting until i just can't bear it and then going.

He worked the heck out of it Thursday. I mean really worked it. He spent 40 minutes on the knot. Today it does feel better. I have not run on it today, but yesterday was touch and go. It does work.
Get The Funk Out
I am in a funk. When I get like this, I run 5 milers until I get out of it. Started at an 8 minute pace and finished at a 7:30 pace. I can say this, I know I will run better when it gets cooler. This is for the pits. You wake up thinking, "Oh dear, I have to run". It is becoming a chore and I hate that. I ended with 26 miles this week. At least I did not have massage my legs. Woo Hoo. Sigh.
The Season Of Wither
I wanna move. This is so killing my running. Goodness. I just get where I do not even want to try..sigh...

Re: Clawing My Way Back
Ouch! I've been enjoying (finally) nice albeit wet weather here in western NY state. It was in the mid-80s yesterday, but the humidity has finally abatted. Of course, it is back to GA next weekend, but the weather looks a lot better there now than it was earlier this summer.

Shoot we may not see that type of weather until after September 5. It will cool off. Climo dictates it must, but this is unreal. We have 100's forecast until at least August 19 and I do not see it backing off after that.
Re: Clawing My Way Back
You really know how to get a down, don't you? All you had to say was SUMMER BLOWS but no, you had to go and explain what a hell hole this place is during the summer. Thanks for starting my week off right, NOT!

Well I have good news.
Larry Cosgrove is still thinking September 4-5 for our cooling off. He did say the models were hinting earlier, but he will go conservative and stick with September 4-5. There is good news coming folks. He also stated that it might be a shade below climo and we WOULD notice a difference. Woo hoo....
For my running. 7 miles. YMCA. 7:30 pace. Lots of hydration and GU. Sigh.
Re: Clawing My Way Back
So we're going to get a cool down 20 days earlier than usual?
By the way, Thursday's 8 mile run marked my first squishy shoe event of the summer! Usually, I have to wait until I get up into the teens before that happens. Lost 6 pounds of water on that run.
