Re: Top 5 Beer List
Sorry to be kind of a beer outsider, but.....
When I'm really hungry I will order anything that is what I consider a heavier beer that I might like: Sam Adams, Guinness, 90 Schilling, Boulevard, Fat Tire, or any micro brew......Never the fruity ones or never the ones that look like root beer!
Post run, however, it is the "tailgate special" as in, Busch Light, Bud Light, or my favorite, Michelob Ultra!
When we happen to be drinking beer......I prefer.....to drink about 3 beers and switch to wine!
And my wine preference is Chardonnay! Le Crema, Kendell Jackson, and just about anything in that price range!!!

Re: Top 5 Beer List
No particular order...
Rogue Dead Guy
Left Hand Milk Stout
Delirium Nocturnum.......or just about any darker Belgian; so hoppy and malty and not bitter
Chimay....any of their 3 varieties are outstanding
Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Ale-can only be purchased in the stat of Mississippi, but it's almost worth a special trip
And there's too many other unbelievable beers out there to even think about this not being a fluid top 5 list. I've also been enjoying (since it's summer) the new Shock Top raspberry Wheat. Pretty tasty for a mass produced micro style.

Corona
Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat
Bell's Oberon
3 Floyds Gumball Head
Is it just me or does Sunset Wheat taste like bluberry pancakes? I drank that one night and the next morning I thought we had went to Denny's after the bar.

I have a friend who was desperate in college and bought a beer called Chihuahua. I've never had it, and never will after his description. He did say it was cheap enough that recycling the cans almost paid for the beer.

Re: Top 5 Beer List
Ahh, a topic I can really enjoy. Here's my top-5.
1.) Bells Hop Slam
2.) Delerium Tremens
3.) Dogfish Head 90-Minute IPA
4.) Surly Furious
5.) Flying Dog Raging Bitch IPA
If I could add a 6th it would have to be Bells Two Hearted Ale. I also just tried the Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Season Ale. Good stuff, but it really packs a punch at 9% AV.

Yeah it packs a punch but that is nothing compared to how it use to be. When I was going to Chico State that stuff was 12% AV, I can't remember why but they had to lower the AV. Still a pretty darn good beer.

What??!?! Bud is my go-to choice at all sporting events.
You need to learn how to BYOB. It's gotta be easy to sneak stuff in during the frigid Bears' games.
You can also spike fruit with your choice of hard liquor!!!
You kow the real reason why vuvuzelas were so popular--they masked the alcohol lying within. And you wondered why they sounded so bad!

After day one of scout day camp, I am enjoying a Boulevard Smokestack Series Saison-Brett Limited Release ale... this, my friends, is the taste of summer. Oh, yeah.

...and I'm enjoying a Flying Dog Raging Bitch (Belgian Style India Pale Ale) - Yummmy!
Rumor has it the Dogfish Head 120 Minute is in transit - they just started selling it in the brew pub in Delaware on Saturday I believe.

Re: Top 5 Beer List
My husband I make a hobby out of trying as many craft beers and homebrews as possible and usually have tons of different stuff at any given time. That makes listing 5 favorites difficult, but I'll try!
Limestone Piltcher Pale Ale (not available in bottles. I get this in Growlers)
Sprecher Octoberfest or similar(I like most Octoberfests or Marzens in general)
Two Brothers Prairie Path
One of the Kolschs (ie Goose Island Summertime, Metropolitan Crankshaft etc)
Goose Island 312 is always a good standby

Patron is not beer, but is just as awesome...Try mixing it with sour. Everytime I order it the bartender looks at me funny. So I tell them to try it and after they try it they realize why I ordered it.

Yeah, Patron makes you cool, but I'd stop by the Yardhouse in Denver to expand your palate.
