Garmin 405 battery life

I've had my Garmin since April 2010 and it was working fine. In fact, Jerry posted a thread over the summer about checking your Garmin's battery life, and mine lasted over 13 hours turned on. Now, however, it's a completely different story, and of course my marathon is in 3 weeks!

My battery goes from 100% to 0% in under 5 minutes. Not great for tracking anything. Is 18 months the limit of Garmin 405 battery life?

I remember I see somewhere(either Garmin''s website or manual) it does have 1000 charge time limit.

I read on the net somewhere it takes $75 for Garmin to replace the battery, not a bad deal for another 3 years. I will probably do that later.

I just hope the turn-around time is fast. NYCM is in 3 weeks and I kind of want it back by then...

I keep waiting for my 405 to do that to me. I have had it for about 2 years now I think! Last I heard, Garmin had OK turn around time, but you might want to call their customer service and see about rush services.

I figure when mine dies I am going to use it as an excuse to upgrade to the 610, which is really nice watch. I love the touch screen on it.
