Re: Laugh at the Rules
I almost feel like I need to run a bunch now so I don't miss running so much in a few weeks whenever we do get the snow!
Looks like a plenty busy spring you have lined up with races.

Yeah, I should have run today, but I had planned on the Body Pump class and stuck with it....it's tough. I'm going with baby weights right now! Running tomorrow and Thursday for sure.
We had a work day/meetings today--kids come back tomorrow. It was a short break....
Re: Laugh at the Rules

Re: Laugh at the Rules
Thanks Michele! I forced Micki to wear the boots for the picture--she says she doesn't like them, while I love them and have 7 pair! I told her it's just a matter of time.....
Julie, thanks! E was so much fun over the holidays!
7 miles yesterday after work! I could tell I've been on my feet the last couple of days, but I had a good run. It was so nice--67 degrees! I wore shorts and short sleeves! Overall pace was 10:11, but two of the miles I pushed to 9:33 or so.
I think rest day today, and I want to run and swim tomorrow. It's time to get back in the pool and work on my form!

The boots are great - whose are they? I would love a pair and so would my 18 yr old daughter.

My gray ones are Born. My black ones Micki has on are Gentle Souls. Both super comfy!!
Re: Laugh at the Rules
6.2 miles today--pretty good weather. A west wind but not bad and not very cold.
I made pork chili, or chili verde last night for today. yummy! Spicy, but I left out the habanero (sp?) peppers and that made a huge difference--usually so hot it isn't fun! Served with corn tortillas wrapped over cheese.
Now, to see if I can stay awake for Shameless and Californication!!

Saturday was first time in the pool in awhile. I still need to work on my form! Hoping to swim once a week for awhile.
4 miles last night--beauty weather! Wow!! It's supposed to be mild again today....guess I should run again, although I planned on going to bodypump.
Re: Laugh at the Rules
4 miles tonight! 60 degrees! Body Pump can wait until Thursday an the weather is changing tomorrow...
Re: Laugh at the Rules
Wed was horrible wind--I ended up working on an application and taking a rest day. Body Pump tonight! It was good--squats are still tough! And of course, pushups AFTER all the other chest/tri/shoulder stuff!
Re: Laugh at the Rules
Monday quick 4.4 miles. Brrr! It was also getting dark.
Body Pump at the Y tonight.

Re: Laugh at the Rules
Training is looking good Peg - impressive mix of things you do in a week. I started a sort of plyometric workout routine last week - haven't done push ups in a while and holy smokes, I'm embarrassed to say what I could (or couldn't!) do and how sore I was the next day. I know it will get better with time, but I know you work hard on strengthening (along with everything else) and I'm duly impressed!

Re: Laugh at the Rules
Thanks John!
Well, I was humbled regarding pushups when I went to Body Pump. It's one thing to do just pushups and crank them out. Totally different doing pushups AFTER a bunch of other muscle sets!! I'm on my knees in Body Pump and since I've been going, I haven't been doing my own pushups. When training starts in a week or so I will probably bring back the pushups at home.
Tuesday was Body Pump again--squats were really hard!!
Ran 6 tonight with my daughter--pushed the pace AND talked! 9:45 average.

Re: Laugh at the Rules
wow, Peg, I guess this "easy" winter so far is paying off as you are certainly getting a lot of quality runs in. Do you have a spring goal race that I've missed seeing somewhere? Even if not, keep up the great work.

Yes Michele--May 6 is the Lincoln Half Marathon--training starts on the 12th. This nice winter has been awesome! I had 97 miles in January, 119 in December--that's a lot for me for winter! We wore shorts yesterday--predicting tons of snow for tomorrow! Weird! Thanks for the encouragement!
I went to Body Pump tonight--wished I could have run, but I get way more sweaty running and I had to go back to school for an open house so I thought the class would be the best choice, but there was no wind and it was 55!!! Oh well! Training will be ramping up soon and I will probably need to drop down to one day a week of class at that point.
