Running with your hair down

I see this lady running several times a week by our house. She always runs with her hair down. Now I see it more often. Ladies running with their hair in the wind. I also see ladies playing softball with their hair down


Am I missing out on some secret club? Flowy Road Racers? Maybe a secret to dry or oily hair?

Or maybe trying to find a date on the streets of Denver?

Does anyone here run with your hair down? Why do you do it?

Just trying to figure it out is all....

I tend to put mine up

Mine tends to stick out like this.... ...but occassionally ends up like this....

I like to blow mine out and stick a pick in it. But that's just me!

I let mine loose, too.

Chas, I was thinking about that same thing this morning, believe it or not. There is a woman, not too much younger than me, at my gym who NEVER puts her long hair up to work out. I don't know how she does it... Even with my hair in a ponytail, it gets in the way sometimes. When I run, I even go to the extreme of either making a long braid or doing a messy bun because I can't stand the feel of my sweaty hair slapping my back.

Women who run with their hair down must not be going very far. However, I did run the Disney Half with my hair down. It was shorter then and I wore a headband. I really only did it because I wanted to see how it would look in the picture.

I think Vivian runs with her hair down.

I envy those that can even weigh in on this thread.

We have a hair down woman here, too. I don't get it.

I was out running this morning in awful humidity and for whatever reason a few strands fell out of my ponytail and kept brushing and sticking to my forehead, even though I also had a hairband on. Drove me nuts!! I don't get it either.

I have to braid mine it is way too thick and long and hot. I don't know any medium to long haired women who don't pull their hair back one way or another.

I ran the March Madness Half in 2009 with my hair down, but it was chilly so it kept me warm. I will run with my hair down in the winter to stay warm when running outside. In the summer or on the treadmill at the gym, it's up in a ponytail..I can't stand feeling the hair on my face or neck. When my hair is really long, it's in a loose bun because I don't like it touching my neck. I'm weird.

My hair is short now, so I don't have the option of putting it up..but when it was longer, I pulled it back and up off my neck and off my face.

The other thing I wonder about is women who run races is full paint make-up. I know what I would look like post-race and wonder why those ladies don't face the same issue. I'm certain, that if I ran in make-up, it would all be puddle in the band of my sports bra at the end of the race/run...

My question is why do they have to put on so much perfume? I mean seriously we are all her to run a race and will be stinky and sweaty at the end. Why do you have to clog my airways with that horrible fragrance??

Alright so I have too short to pull back, keep warm, and I wanted to see what I looked like in the pic. . I love this thread and I'll give you all a pass on the hair down!

I seriously can't stand the makeup/perfume thing. Ugh. Seriously. This guy I work with loads his on before spending two hours lifting. I could spend all day smelling him but if I were running in that gym I would have to beat him up. I always give him a hard time about it too. He stops coming by my office on his way out hahaha

I'm going to give it a try tonight. I would like to see if my hair still looks good after. . Sure I smell like ass but my hair looks fucking awesome! Hahaha
