I've seen finisher's places change, so I'm not going to report anymore until the dust has settled.

Early reports are gruesome. Really hope none of this crew was in the vicinity at the time.

BOSTON —Two

Boylston Street as thousands of people gathered for the race, and there

Witnesses said several victims lost limbs, the race was stopped and the area is being evacuated.
The first explosion happened across from the Lenox Hotel and the second blast was about 15 seconds later, witnesses said.
Many of the injured appeared to be spectators who gathered for the 117th running of the race.
NewsCenter 5's Sean Kelly said the impact of the explosions could be felt blocks away.
The victims were being taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.
NewsCenter 5 and WCVB.com will have more information when it becomes available.

Re: Boston Marathon Discussion Thread
All major broadcast networks have broken into normal programming.
I saw a video showing smoke just before the finish line. The time clock was at 4:09:51, according to the hand held video. Lots of stretchers, but no reports of number of casualties, but there are casualties.

Re: Boston Marathon Discussion Thread
To be optimistic, two explosions felt blocks away in the vicinity of thousands of people, yet early reports of "dozen of injuries" is a good sign. That won't make those injured (or worse) feel better, but at least it doesn't sound like an epic tragedy on the scale it could have been. Yet.

Re: Boston Marathon Discussion Thread
Vivian, Kath and Michele would've seen the smoke as they were nearing the finish line. The others should've finished prior to the explosions.

Re: Boston Marathon Discussion Thread
Not familiar with Boston at all, were these explosions literally at the finish line?
I wonder how/where they are routing the runners still on the course?
