Week 0 of Thanksgiving 10k Training - first 6-day running week in a month or two

8/11 - 5mi ez
8/12 - 6.5mi progression easy to MP (HOT)
8/13 - 4mi + 5x 8sec hill sprints
8/14 - 6.35mi GA (HOT)
8/15 - 6.5mi w/ 5x 800m @ 3:00-3:03
8/16 - 4mi + 6x 8sec hill sprints - last day working for my dad
8/17 - off

Still plugging away, making steady progress on the barefoot/low HR training.

Mon: Rest day
Tue: 0.6 miles testing shoes at Nike
Wed: 5.6 miles barefoot on roads and trails
Thu: Rest
Fri: 3.1 miles barefoot on roads
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6.1 miles barefoot on the track for a MAF test. Was pleased with the results, and my progress so far:

Still have a cranky achilles, so a little running, but it really isn't there quite yet.

Mon - 3 miles running (walk the hills)
Tues - 20 miles cycling, weights and core. PT
Wed - 4 miles running (walk the hills)
Thurs - 22 miles cycling, weights and core, PT
Fri - 4 miles running, achilles very sore after
Sat - 14 miles cycling - trying to kill out of shape hubby
Sun - 51 miles cycling

Totals for the week: 11 miles running; 106 miles cycling

Hopefully the cycling will keep me in aerobic shape.

Tu- off (work & fatigue)
W-3xmi 6:42,6:33,6:20 tight calves-cut short (6mi total)
Th-5mi treadmill recovery pace w/1 hr strength
Fr-10mi @7:57 pace
Sa-20mi w/ 8:00 min group
Su-5mi recovery outside then 1hr strength inside. weather even nice at 4pm.

Back from ACK. Just have not had the energy to blog, because I am running so much Smile Yesterday I crewed a friend at her first 100K, Waldo, which was so beautiful and super tough. She finished 3 minutes before the cutoff, so got her cherished hat! Wink I was so wiped today, I could barely do my long run Smile

Monday 3 (travel day, so this was short)
Tuesday 8
Wednesday 11 in the wicked heat. DH followed me on the bike with water, which was such a sweet gesture.
Thursday 7 still hot, so slow
Friday 8 weather broke, so this was a tempo run with the middle miles at MP or less.
Saturday Crewed for my friend, but that meant humping all her supplies in 1.5 miles and then out again Smile But I am not counting it Wink
Sunday 19.5
TOTAL 57.5

This, I think is an all time high for me mileage wise. I look forward to a slightly less high mileage week, with a half marathon race on Sunday.

Mon: 4 easy + 12 at 6:00 pace with 2-3-2 tempo
Tues: 16 at 6:32 pace
Wed: 4 easy + 8 easy
Thurs: 14 total with 5k in 16:03 + 8 x 400 in 73-75 seconds
Fri: 4 easy + 10 easy
Sat: 14 at 6:31 pace
Sun: 20 at 6:26 pace

Tue - 10.8 miles with 20x30 seconds fast
Wed - 6.2 miles easy
Thu - 7.5 miles (TM) with 6x90 second hill repeats
Fri - 6.1 miles easy
Sat - 15 miles
Sun - 6.9 miles easy

Week - 58.5 miles
