Garmin 610 Questions
I got a 610 today! Yay...and the questions begin.
When I plugged the USB thing into my computer it recognized it and installed it easily. But it never asked me if I wanted to pair. And it's not showing up in my "my computer" list of devices.
Am I missing something?

Re: Garmin 610 Questions
Is the dongle in the USB port?
Is the 610 on?
I think I remember mine asking me to pair.

I don't know what a dongle is. But the watch is recognizing the computer (in that it beeps and starts charging) the computer is just not recognizing it at all. Nor is it recognizing the USB thing. I've been on the garmin site and all the appropriate software is downloaded and up to date. It's just not recognizing anything.

It's probably the ball bearings.

So what does that mean and what should I do? It's straight out of the box. And neither the USB or the watch on cradle are recognized...
I SO want to play with this new toy!

Do you have the "Garmin Ant Agent" installed?
Mac or PC?
I have a Mac, and you can manage paired devices in the Ant Agent.

Call customer support. But make sure you've already prepared the Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. They'll hopefully be able to walk you through this.

Yes, it's installed.
PC
The issue is that my computer is not recognizing it. I am thinking at this point it's my computer and not the watch, since the watch starts charging when plugged in.

Waiting to see if SJ gets the second Fletch reference, since she missed the first one.....

OK. All clear. Garmin has the best support ever. And my first run in my new watch was fantabulous. I love it. Christmas in October.

For future reference, what was the problem?

Re: Garmin 610 Questions
I think I got a good deal. 10% off of a lot felt like a lot.
I'd rather not share the problem. Let's just say the guy I spoke to on the phone was very nice (and I didn't know I was looking for a icon hidden in my "tray" that looked like Mickey Mouse).
