Your Week in Training Sep 1 - 7

Mon 4 easy 72°F
Tue 8 easy 78°F including 1 mile on the beach with a Coast Guard platoon.
Wed -
Thu 5 easy 73°F accompanied by schools of near-shore dolphins in the surf.
Fri -
Sat am 4 easy 75°F barefoot on the beach at dawn.
Sat pm 3 race 92°F Arlington Police Fire & Sheriff's 9-11 Memorial 5K.
21:59 ... OK given several walk breaks and a pee stop!

Yeah, I stopped to pee in a 5K! Pretty wild. But even more wild ... when I stopped to take a leak and opened my pants the heat blasted out like I was opening an oven door. I could have baked some bread in there ... just sayin'.

Tues - 6.2 miles - Track workout 1 x 3K, 1 x 1 mile, 1 x 1K, 1 x 800 warm up/cool down; Workout with trainer
Wed - 5 mile recovery run ; Core class
Thurs - 9 miles with 6.5 @ MP; Work with trainer
Fri - 3 mile shake out run
Sat - 10 miles Thirds Progression Run
Sun - 6 mile recovery run
WTD: 39 miles
Mon - Day off

My hamstring saga continues. Just when I thought I was in good shape from the last strain in June, boing - at the end of some repeat miles. Wasn't blasting the pace but was moving pretty hard and made a quick push right at the end to maintain pace. Hmmm -- hopefully I haven't derailed my CIM hopes in December. Supposed to start my 12 week cycle next week so taking it easy next week. Just ran 38 last week. Then took 3 days off.
