I didn't do any running this past week! I used the whole week to get my head back on straight and used the time to gather my thoughts and analysis what went wrong in Boston on Monday along with my training and nutrition. It was good for me and I was able to come to several conclusions and answers to what wrong and why I had my first blowup on race day!

The great news is that I have some very very exciting plans and goals for Chicago this coming fall. Yep, Jerry you read it right although I will be running the North Country 50 miler that race will only be used as a long training running. MY WHOLE FOUCS IS TURNING BACK TO RACING AND PRing IN THE MARATHON.  I will continue to run 50 mile races well because I like them and like being out on the trails.

I will be starting a new blog really soon and will share all the new exciting develops that will be taking place for Chicago and future race training cycles!

BAM look out, here I come!!!!

Well I, for one, cannot wait, Schuey. I didn't run all week either; however I did run the Nike Women's Half Marathon in DC this morning. I ran much quicker than expected but I'm a lot more tired than usual. Wonder why?

Mon -26.2
T -Sat 0
Sun - 13.1

WTD: 39.3.

Wheels came off this week.

Mon: 5.2 miles, revved up by Boston Marathon.
Tue: Sore. Guess 5.2 was too much. Dangit.
Wed: Still sore and achy? Pain in new places? This is not a good sign.
Thu: Tried to run easy, realized it was a bad idea in about 50 feet. Walked 3 miles. Even MORE sore?
Fri: Accepted reality and shut it down. No running until after I see a PT next week.
Sat: --
Sun: --

Week: 8.2 miles

Shuey, don't hold us in suspense, what was the conclusion you came to on the cause of the race issues?

Mon - 26.2 (really about 26.5 with the dodging back and forth)
Tue-Thu - rest
Fri - 3 miles
Sat - 4 miles
Sun - 8 miles

I wish it was the fall and the weather were getting colder as I'd look for another marathon in 2-3 weeks but the weather is only going to get warmer. I think due to being slowed by the warm weather/dehydration, I am recovering faster than usual.

Week - 41 miles

ran about a dozen miles over a few days post boston.  Nice slow easy to help keep things moving.  Nothing exciting.  Still have the same tender hamstring but everything else is looking up.
