I had never heard of it, but you made me curious. Found it streaming on the computer, got hooked and watched the whole thing. Thanks a lot Charles - I feel like a big wuss now! Those folks are incredible...

Michael Wardian in his Badwater debut finished 3rd in 26:22:01. Great race this year.

Yeah they are at least I have one thing in common with them I'm nuts! This race has been on my list since 2006 when I first saw the DVD about it and reading about Al Arnold when he first did it in 1977. Back then though Al and anyone that wanted to do it had to climb to the top of Mt. Whitney and back down!!

I'm almost more impressed by the last place finishers: just a hair under 2 days. TWO DAYS.

Good point that takes a hell of lot of guts and mental toughness to stay out there that long! That is nuts and a badass also.

Must also add that Wardian that finished 3rd also won the National Marathon that Lisa, Chris and I were at in March. 2:23:01, he also won the JFK 50 miler in 07 with a time something like 5:50:xx.
