Oh, right! THIS is why Nancy has been avoiding us. She's out of the country! Hope she's having fun.
At any rate, she is going to be so happy that we baby sat her blog while she was gone.

I hope she likes what we've done with the place.

Re: Survival of the fittest
Are y'all still experiencing the Pineapple Express up there? Since the jet stream is pretty much west to east, we're just getting Pacific fronts through here. When the local weather dudes start showing how cold it is in Jacknife Canada, then we'll get cold weather in about 4-5 days.Mark B wrote:ounce wrote:I hope she likes what we've done with the place.

So, do you think Nancy was not allowed back in the country?
Your Ducks will like SA. And they'll say, "The Alamo is so small!"

No, we shifted away from the Pineapple Express a while back, in favor of a firehose coming straight off the Pacific. We had a brief respite today, but we're expecting another "atmospheric river event" starting Wednesday night. When even PNW natives start to complain about the rain, you know it's kind of unusually wet.
If Nancy is barred from re-entry, it's probably due to the nature of those with whom she associates on social media.
Looking forward to the Alamo Bowl. It ought to be a good game. Both teams would have fared better this year, were it not for injuries, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out, now that folks are more healthy again.

Re: Survival of the fittest
I understand a power wash is better than subtle "beneficial" rain. We had another Pacific front come through, this morning that spread a little rain, bring a little cool (H62-L40) that's supposed to last through the weekend, then back to H73-L56. Christmas is to be seasonally average at 63 & 40. It's our winter roller coaster.Mark B wrote:ounce wrote:Are y'all still experiencing the Pineapple Express up there? Maybe Nancy is negotiating a trade agreement for the peppermint oil, hay, and that special Oregon mud caused by fire hose conditions?

She may well be! Hope she saves some mint for us, though.
It was very drizzly, chilly and gray yesterday, but harder rain is coming soon. Cool enough for snow in the mountains, though, so that's good.
This game isn't shaping up well for either of us.

So how long does it take to notice, say, Mt. Hood's additional snow? Or 'if that spot doesn't change to white by X date, we're a goner.' Does the surface of the Columbia ever freeze over?Mark B wrote:ounce wrote:I understand a power wash is better than subtle "beneficial" rain. Well, you could be creative and move one of mine to another slot. Shame we can't do bowling or checkers. I'm not good at either, but it would be different.

Tell you what: I'll go first this time.
Game 3
We may both know this game well enough to ensure that neither of us ever loses, though.

Seems like to get a draw, if the opponent has a corner and the center, one must grab one of the other corners.

I think the key is going first and having an opponent who makes a mistake.

Now if we can just find an opponent.
Maybe we need to make a 4 x 4 called "Tic Tac Toe hurts"

Oh, I don't know. At least this many variables makes us think.
