Congrats, Lisa! Keep it up!! Proud of you. You're getting faster, too, from what I see, right?

Thanks Julie, you're doing well also! I am getting faster and that is cool. What was a really hard pace to me, is not that hard. It's fun watching what consistency does!Julie wrote:Congrats, Lisa! Keep it up!! Proud of you. You're getting faster, too, from what I see, right?

Thank you Jim!! I know you guys moved, but hopefully we'll see you sometime out on the path!Jim Lentz wrote:Way to go Lisa!
Nick - it feels so good to hit that goal. I think it just took me some time to really accept the challenge. I'm still working on it, and will be continuously doing so. It is fun watching my hard work pay off!Nick Morris wrote:Woot woot!!! Way to hit the mileage goal Lisa!! It feels good, huh? Is that why they call it a runners high??

At this point, the both of you shouldn't be too worried about pace. It is more about getting your body readjusted to putting in the miles. The pace will dropJulie wrote:Sounds like the group runs are agreeing with you! I'm still at 13:00 pace but oh well, right?

Nick - you are right..thank you for the reminder. The first step is getting used to putting in the miles and like you said, the pace will drop.Nick Morris wrote:At this point, the both of you shouldn't be too worried about pace. Great work, Lisa. One day at a time, remember that, and I will see you in November as you are running a 10K with me, right???
Re: Oh, the Places You'll Go!
I'm so tired everything makes me laugh but MY TWINS ARE TWO MONTHS OLD TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! So where's our crack the whip emoticon? For me?
Oh but yeah, seriously, I know. Actually I'm pleasantly surprised at how much easier things are getting, I think probably just with my body getting more back to normal and slow or fast, running makes me happy and happy people are more likely to laugh deliriously than cry at everything, so bring on the running.

Re: Oh, the Places You'll Go!
Hello LA are you ever going to post to your blog anymore?? I'm sure everyone is interested in how your progress is going.
I know that you are working hard on becoming fit and get back to were you want to be. Just remember the road back can be tough and long but if you stay with it before you know it you will find yourself back to that old you. What not only your old you but even better!!!
Hey did you just sign up for another 8k race?
How's the Fleet feet running group going?
How is your new training plan from coach Andrew?
Do you need any help with your new plan???

Yes, I signed up for an 8K with YOU and my friend from my running group...it's a Turkey Chase the morning of Thanksgiving. It will be a fun time! I'd like to run the Detroit Turkey Trot with you again..hopefully (let's plan on next year) when we are able to make it back to Michigan to spend time with our family on Thanksgiving!
The Fleet Feet running group is kicking my ass.
Honestly, I think that the new plan that coach Andrew sent me needs fine tuning. I emailed him and told him I did the "run by time" thing and it just doesn't work for me. Like Adriana, knowing the mileage motivates to get me out the door - something solid. Whereas times and ranges have my brain all over the place. Just don't like it. So I asked that he put my plan in miles with the exception of the speed work. I'm doing a lot of easy runs (not easy as in EASY...easy as in harder). I think that I need to have less of those and a day or two more recovery.
Yes, I would love help with it! Especially with interpreting it.
Oh and I love you!
Hey there Mark - things are going good...I just got my new 620 and am looking forward to putting it to good use! I'm also excited to see what coach Andrew sends me for my revised plan.Mark B wrote:Yeah! Come on, Lisa. Hi Michele! Yes, I sure am!! I'll beg of your patience though, as my run is your walk..I'm sure! If you can bear that slow pace, I'd love to be able to run with you and Chris!Michele \"1L" Keane wrote:Yeah, are you running the Vienna 10K with me?? See you soon.
