You heard right. I do have a race this weekend, but I don't know what you are talking about after thatounce wrote:I have heard you might have a race, this weekend. And that it might be cold. It's a GOOD thing you're impervious to Taper Madness. I mean, you would be the last person I would think of to start a thread on Taper Madness, much less post more than once to it.
So have a great race and Houston's high on Sunday will be 70 with clear skies and another loss by the Texans on Sunday night to the Colts. But you will have two Texas boys at quarterback. Andrew Luck grew up in Houston.

Travel day...Set out this morning for the airport on my way to the frozen north. The flights went well and we made it into our hotel by 2:00pm. Resting up tonight, as I wait for my friends to get here tomorrow. Then we will head to the expo, meet up with Nancy, get my race bib, and then put in a shake out run (last couple miles of the course). Feels good to make it in one piece.

Shake out run...My friends got to Hamilton this afternoon and we headed out to the expo to get our race packets. After that, we ran the last 2.25 miles of the race course to shake things out. That is when I found out that my Garmin wasn't working. It was working on Thursday, but now for some reason it won't start up off of the cradle. I tried the reset to no avail. I am going to keep trying to get it to work, but my friend did say that he would let me use his gps watch if I can't get my going. Looks like I will need that new 620 after all

D'oh! Taper nightmare come true! Glad your friend has offered to help out if you can't bring your 305 back from the dead.Nick Morris wrote:11.02.13 -

Well, I couldn't find a solution to my Garmin issue. So, I am going to roll with my friends Timex Ironman GPS watch. I am lucky that they are along and he is willing to let me use it!!!Michele \"1L" Keane wrote:My Garmin didn't work earlier this week either. No worries. Run smart and run strong!

Race Day...continued...So, after having a heart attack in regards to my Garmin malfunction (which worked on Thursday) I headed out with my friend's gps watch. I did everything that I wanted to and more for the first half of the race and held on, even with an almost two minute fade over the last three miles, to run a sub 3:05 (3:04:35). I will probably write a race report sometime tomorrow when I get home.
I want to thank everyone for their support. Without you guys, I am not sure that I could have accomplished what I have. I can't wait to see most of you in Boston 2015!!!!
