Running thru a bad head cold Empty Running thru a bad head cold

I'm running the LA Marathon in 2-1/2 weeks. Already bailed on Tuesdays run as I couldn't get out of bed. Ran 7 yesterday and was pretty much junk after. Still pretty sick. I really hate to skip another run, but wonder if I might do more good by resting today.
I could get out there and do the run, just not sure if it's the best idea. I've got 90 minutes to decide.....

Trust the training as you are now in taper. Rest and get rid of the cold.

This. You're in taper. The work is done.

Michele & Mike-
Thanks. I feel guilty, as though I'm squandering all the work I've done, but cannot imagine how running 5 miles feeling like this would actually do me any good.
Gonna curl up in bed soon.....

Forget the guilt. Just work on getting better.

Hay is in the barn. Now just get the junk out of your sinuses.

Counter-point...
When I have a head cold, running seems to help. Before I PRd in Chicago I had a horrible head cold 2 weeks before and went ahead and ran my miles and hit the sauna to 'sweat it out', as they say. Works for me. A few minutes into a run my sinuses open up... and I;d sweat about twice as much as normal.
The key is knowing that it's a head cold and not in the chest. From the neck up, I keep running. If it's in the chest, I hopefully get a z-pak and keep running ;-)
