2012 Goals
This is a little bit different than the "2012 Plans" thread.
What are your running goals for 2012? Could be a number of miles to run, race time(s) to hit, something about getting or staying healthy, or anything else running-related you are shooting for in 2012. Yes it is early for this thread so think about and respond some time before December 31.....I need to think more about my own goals before then.

Re: 2012 Goals
I want an injury free year and a 4:35 marathon in the spring. If I race a half in the fall, I want a 2:05 half. Not sure what my fall plans will be yet though.
Re: 2012 Goals
Sub 3:10,... besides that a HM PR (currently 1:31) would be cool.

Re: 2012 Goals
2012 goals:
1) Injury free year Didn't make this as I suffered from a bout of achilles tendonitis from June until September
2) Strong Boston race - maybe sub 3:45 there - Weather prevented this, but did run 4 hr
3) Live and run through graduation, moving and living again with my hubby, and sending my only child off to college Survived this one and scored a plus with college choice
4) 2100 miles Actually ran 1600 miles due to the injury, but not too bad.

Re: 2012 Goals
My goals are pretty simple:
1. Stay Consistent
2. Enjoy Running
3. Run some more 50 mile races because they are so much FUN!
4. Give my all and do my best on any given day of running and the rest will take care of itself. No matter what the finish time says it really doesn't matter to me anymore. It's all about the effort and being the best I can be on any given day. 110% and some more!!

Re: 2012 Goals
I don't have any big running goals for 2012.
1. Actually race the Illinois Marathon this year, the last two years I ran this less than 2 weeks after Boston. Maybe I can break 3:40.
2. Run more shorter races during the summer, so I can play more golf (I know that is not really a running goal but it is a personal goal)
3. Run more trail races and possibly a couple of 50K's or trail marathons in the fall.
4. Of course, remain injury free

I think the trick is to run with the dirt touching the bottom of my shoes, not the sides or top. And definitely not the forehead.

Re: 2012 Goals
1) 3:10 in the London Marathon. 3:15 OK, and MUST beat 3:20.
2) Beat 88:47 PB in Ras al Khaimah Half Marathon. 1:30 acceptable.
3) 40:00 10K (never done it and don't really think it's possible). Otherwise beat 40:28 PB.
4) 19:30 5K.
5) Stay injury-free.
I'm not on target for any of the above. I just know that three of the first four are POSSIBLE, if unlikely. I despair of achieving the fifth.

If you're running trails and not getting dirt on the sides/top of your shoes, you're running on a hovercraft.

If you're going for a 3:10 marathon, a 40:00 10k is only a few weeks of tempo/speed work away from that.
Re: 2012 Goals
1. No injuries.
2. PR Houston on January 15
3. Maybe do Texas Marathon Challenge (5 marathons from October to May) again.

Re: 2012 Goals
I don't know if I will ever get that sub-3(3:01:22--2009), but I can get PR's in HM(1:29--2010), 10k(39.56--2009), and 5k(20:XX)--sorry, I haven't run any official 5ks in 9 years. I'd love to break 18 minutes in that distance.
Finally, I'd like to negative split the marathon and Sugarloaf sets up perfectly for that.

Re: 2012 Goals
Well, at the risk of completely embarrassing myself, I will put my goals down here. It appears that I'm trying to keep up with Gobbles but these are my own personal and unrelated goals.
sub 17 5k
sub 1:20 half
2:45 full
sub 17 5k
sub 1:20 half
2:45 full
