Re: Laugh at the Rules
Nice 4 miles last night in great temps! I did Body Pump tonight--it was nice too but a non-running day.
Re: Laugh at the Rules
6 miles on Wednesday with a couple fast portions. I did Body Pump tonight even though it was the most beautiful weather imaginable and NO WIND at all!
Re: Laugh at the Rules
Really consistent running, Peg. Body Pump? Is that a Tony Horton program, Les Mills or something else?

Les Mills.
I've been going 2x a week since December 22. I was worried it would affect my running but I think it's ok. The worst thing about it is it is inside! This week has been awesome weather--high 70's.
I have a 5K tomorrow. It's a small local race downtown--3 loops around. Rest day today.

Good luck in the 5K Peg.

Re: Laugh at the Rules
Thanks guys!
I ran 8:05, 8:09, and then 8:3x in my 5K....slowed way down the third mile....26:03, a few seconds faster than last year. I got first in my age group but wasn't there to get my medal because my friend took me to yoga class! I really liked that! I thought I would struggle but I was more flexible than I thought! It felt good after the race!

Re: Laugh at the Rules
Thanks Kathy.
Saturday I ran my long run of 9 in about 1:31. Nice out. Sunday I did 4 mile pace--that was tough. Then I went to Body Pump at the Y. I decided I needed to take Monday off. THe winds were ridiculous Monday so that ended up being a good decision. Today I ran 3.5 with my daughter--we took turns pushing E in the Bob--that was tough. Plus it was windy enough and hilly (her city is hilly--mine is flat). Tomorrow a I will do a 5 probably. I think I will go to body pump Thursday but not run--Friday off again. Saturday 10 mile race.
Later.

Very cool that you were able to run with your daughter (and share pushing duties)!

thanks Kathy. So glad you take the time to read my blog and post comments!
Last night's run was tough--7x400, 5 miles total. Windy and hot. Tonight I did Body Pump but skipped the squat track and took it easy on the lunge track. Rest tomorrow and 10 mile race Saturday.

Thanks all! Weather looks good so far!! No snow. No cold. No lightning. No wind (yet). No rain, nor did it rain last night to make puddles....Is this really the State Farm run?
Re: Laugh at the Rules
I hope you're having a good time! Yeah I know there is almost always bad weather for that race. I remember one year my running group and I met at 5:30 (our usual time) and cut the run pretty short and went out for breakfast while it rained. We all said how glad we weren't out running State Farm. That was maybe 5 yrs ago.
