Yes, although it might be as strong as you might first think. We do get snows and cold during La Ninas....

Followed by hot AND humid 2 days later. Is that still music to your ears Ken, especially if the hot/humid land on race day?

CiCi's
Going there in 30 minutes. I got my 7 miles done. I am pooped. I am tired. I started at a 7:54 pace, going through the five mile mark at 31:15 and finishing with a 53:59. The last three miles were at a 7:30 pace. Not too bad. Soleus tweaking, but ok. I am just tired. I have 39 miles this week.
Great Week
Ran 3 miles at 23:00 to finish up the week at 42 miles. Not too bad. To start this week, it was humid. Good Lord, Houston is getting the rain. Man oh man. The humidity was rough. Went from a 7:54 pace to a 7:24 pace and ended up running a 53:20. I was pooped. I mean worn out. I love the rain, but hate the humidity. At least I am done. I have 7 miles for the week.
Summer Part Whatever
You know what. I am so tired of this. I really am. I died on this run. Just died. I am so tired, I can barely move. I started out at a 7:54 pace and got to a 7:30 pace, but could not hold it. I tried, but I could barely breathe. What the hell? They humidity was something else. I went back to 7:54 pace and slowly worked back to a 7:36 pace to finish in 53:40 for 7 miles, but dear God in heaven. I am so tired of this. Where is the cool air? Where is it? ( To answer my question, about a week and half out). I have 14 miles this week.
Timeline:Houston
Tuesday's run was kinda good. Started out at a 7:42 pace and ended at an 7:24 pace to give me a 37:30 for 5 miles. I was rushed for we went to Cici's with family, so the 7 miler got cut short. It was hot. It was humid. Wednesday, I had meetings all day and lost the whole chance to run. I say that, but I could have run at night, but felt I needed to give my body a rest. Today, I took a mental health day off. I still worked from home, but needed the rest. Went to my DC and got tuned up. I had some numbness on my left hand and muscle aches. Come to find out, I had a slightly pinched nerve in my neck. Great. Oh well. Today, I ran 7 miles. It was hot. It was humid, inside that is. It was 79 when I finished running. I started at a 7:42 pace, went through 3 at 22:45 while going at an 8 minute pace, went through 5 miles at 37:40 and finished at a 7:24 pace with a 52:30. So overall, not bad. I want to take advantage of the cool air tomorrow morning and do a 5 mile jog. I have 26 miles this week.

Destination:Hotville
Good news and bad news. The bad news. It is still hot. I started the run at 77.4 degrees and I finished it at 79.4. Man oh man. I started at a 7:42 pace and by 5 miles, 30:30 at 7:30 pace. I was still hurting and sweating, but trying to get into the zone, I would not be kept under. At the 4.75 mile mark, I ramped it up to a 7:24 pace and kept it to the end. I ended up with a 52:30 for 7 miles and 22:00 for the last 3 miles. Again, I am getting better. I cannot wait for this cool front Tuesday afternoon. My times should really start to get better. I am tired, but still I think this Saturday's run should be good. I will start at a 7:36 pace and see what happens after that. I have 35 miles this week.
Leaving: Hotville
Well yes, Tuesday. Again, another hot run. Again, I had to come off of the mat to finish. I swear when the cooler weather gets here ( lows 40's and highs 70's), I will not know what to do. I will not know how to act. Sheesh. It was 77 when I started and 80 when I finished upstairs. I started with a 15:20 for 2 miles, ran a 8 minute pace from mile 1.35 to 4.0 ( 4 mile time was 30:20) and ran an 7:24 pace for the last three miles to give me a 52:25 for 7 miles. That was my first sub 52:30 in three months. That was the first time in a week for 5-7 milers ( all sub 7:35 pace) since June. That was the first strong 42 mile week since June. ( I ran two miles jogging this week on Friday). I think I am coming back. I think. I have 42 miles for the week.
Hotville Part III: Final Destination
One more hot day. One more hot day. I keep telling myself this. Even the easy runs I am sweat soaked. The glorious front will come through early Tuesday to make that afternoon's run a joy. Otherwise, I deal with it. I started with a 7:54 pace, ran a 7:42 pace for three miles and ended on a 7:54 pace for the last two to give me a 54:30 fo r7 miles. I am tired and ready to go play with my son. Until tomorrow, see ya. Oh yeah, it started at 77 degrees and ended at 79.8 at the 7 mile mark. I have 7 miles this week.
Re: Clawing My Way Back
1 more day, and then a short reprieve. I dont know how it will be there, but Tuesday and Wednesday nights here will be in the 40's, with daytime highs only in the mid-70's. I guess that counts as "Fall"

Yeah, it does. I think ( I am going on out on a limb here) that this might be the last 90 for a long time. I am worn out Ken. Just down to the quick.
Game Changer
With the front ( Yea HOOOOOO) coming in tomorrow morning, I am adjusting some things. First, I am not even going to run even close to hard. Sorry. 7:54 pace for me for 7 miles. That is it. 55:18 and I will call it a day. Tomorrow, look out.
Forgetta Bout It
1. I am tired
2. It is hot
3. I am tired of bashing my brains out when I can just not run on the hot day
4. The front will be here by noon. That will make Tuesday's run refreshing
5. Day off

Glorious Glorious Glorious Cool Weather!!!
Yes, it is in the 60's here and going down. It should be in the 50's by mid afternoon. This run should be glorious. About dang time. Oh by the way, one model ( the Canadian) is showing an even stronger front coming next week. Woo Hoo. Run commences at 5 pm.

I am sorry on yours, but hey who knows. It just might be in the 50's
Fun Times, Not!!
I knew I was in trouble. I knew it. I knew it. I felt like crap before my run. I ate a piece of pizza and huge amounts of chocolate at our executive team meeting. I went in thinking, ok, 7:54 pace and that is it. My competitive juices got the better of me and by the 1.75 mile mark, 7:30 pace was the game. I was so tired during this run, I was all over the place. It was really cool too, but I just did not have it. I staggered ( and I mean staggered) in for a 52:50 for 7 miles. I am glad it is over. I have 14 miles this week. Oh and I did not even eat supper. That is how tired I am.
Will It Be Slower Than I Thought?
My comeback, as it were. I got home late today and I had to shorten my run to 5 miles. I still felt worn out today, so the first mile was at 7:54. From mile two to mile three, it was a 7:30 pace and miles four and five were at a 7:24 pace. I felt a little stronger, I ran a 37:40, but I still have work to do. I was not comfortable and I hate that. I have 19 miles this week.
Fresh Fall Day
Interesting. I am tired, but not worn out. I started again thinking, ok easy day. It ended up being productive. I started with a 7:54 pace and by the third mile, it was a 23:30. Well the next two miles were at a 7:30 pace, the last two miles at a 7:24 pace (39:00 for five) and ended up at a 53:30 for 7 miles. Am I pleased? Ok, a little. We still have work to do. First, I must get over the "yuck" feeling before my runs. Second, why can I not channel the last good feeling over the last five miles to the first two miles? I think I will get there, I just have to get in the groove. I have 26 miles this week.
Temptress of Heat
I missed Friday. I got home at 4:30 pm and was told I had two events to attend. Lovely. Oh well. Well, I did get in 2 quick miles, so that helped. Saturday was interesting. I had to get the run in and I did. I started off at a 7:54 pace and by the time I hit the 2 mile mark, I was at a 7:30 pace. By the time I hit the five mile mark (31:10), I was at a 7:19 pace. I finished with a 52:59 for 7 miles. So far so good. That gave me 35 miles for the week. For Sunday, I was pooped. I did not want to run. If I did, I just wanted 5 miles With all things toddler, I get off the treadmill, I have to speed it up to make up the time. I started at a 7:54 pace and was cruising at a 7:19 pace for the last 2.5 miles. I hit the 4 mile mark at 30:00 and the 5 mile mark at 37:19. I was really hot, so I backed off to a 7:48 pace and ended the 7 miles at 53:04. I was kinda pleased, but I know the next three days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be hot runs. I have 7 miles for this week.
Where is Fall?
We get a good front, then heat comes back. The heat comes back and I am just working too hard. Again, today, I started at a 7:54 pace, going through the two mile mark at 15:30 and the last five miles at 37:30. I had to work too hard. Way, too hard. I am tired of working too hard. Dadgummit. At least I am running, right. Sigh. 52:59 for 7 miles. I have 14 miles for the week. The front is due Thursday, but not sure of the time. I am hoping early in the day. I do know Tuesday and Wednesday will be hot ones. By the way, 79 degrees for the run. Nice and toasty.
Re: Clawing My Way Back
Dont know about you guys, but the front is supposed to come through here overnight on Wednesday into Thursday morning. So Wednesday will be 90 degrees, and Thursday will be 67. Nice few days, but then back up into the 80s after the weekend. Sigh. I miss Fall.

Re: Clawing My Way Back
I am enjoying our extended "summer". We keep have days in the 70's and lots of sunshine! Love it, but it changed today. I heard Denver was going to get snow tomorrow.
Hang in there Texas runners!

It is just going to take time to totally dislodge this heat. I suppose it could be in the 90's. Sigh.
