If you do, I would recommend the Great River Relay. It is very challenging, as it follows the bluffs of the Mississippi River all the way up the Wisconsin/Minnesota border. Lots of great scenery, too.

13 miles...
This morning's 13 miler went pretty much as plan. I started out with a couple slower miles to get warmed up and then started to bang out faster miles ast I went a long. Everything felt great, free and easy. I completed 13.40 miles again. This time at a 7:45 pace. My HR averaged 139 for the run. 20 miles tomorrow to complete my 33 mile weekend.

Just catching up - impressive runs of late and glad to see the leg is fine. Race really did look like fun (except the no sleep part!) I love runs like your 13 miler where everything just clicks. HR looking good, as is your overall training - keep up the great work.

Thanks Kenny...I was suprised to see that it was actually a little higher at the start than it has been. Not sure why...

Thanks John...I am hoping that the road bumps are in the past. (insert the sound of me knocking wood) Only a few weeks left until taper starts so I got to make the best of what I got left.

Great job Nick! I really like the video too. Felt like I was chillin' in the room with you. I've met a lot of 365'ers and now I feel like I have met you. Sorta. I mean sure I wasn't able to feel you up or anything but um I'm sure that will happen sooner or later.
Can I make video requests until then? hahahahaa

3 mile recovery
An easy 3 mile recovery today. My legs felt pretty good, especially after the 33 mile weekend. I finished 3.12 miles at an easy 8:37 pace.

Nice to see that things are moving along just fine Nick. I like the idea of the video for your long run, cool twist. I hear you about some times the effort feels like I'm running faster then what the pace says. I hate it when that happens.

Thanks...I think that it was just my perception, as my HR was still really low.

Nice job on the 20. The 13 the day before will certainly have something to do with 8:00 pace feeling more like 7:45-50. That and the fact that you're more than half way through the training cycle. Solid fast finish too.

easy 6 miles
Tonight was an easy 6 on a cool, raining evening. Sorry Jerry...if I could bottle it up and send it to you I would, buddy!! Nothing too special about tonight's run. I just put the work in and went home. Total line was 6.24 miles at a 7:38 pace. Seven miles tomorrow. I am leaning towards running them at fartlek, but I am not sure yet...

Thought the vlog idea worked out well for you Nick! Cool that you were able to pick it up the last five. It's a good feeling to be happy with a 20 in the midst of a training cycle.

I just had to go to the beginning of your blog to check when Steamtown was. Oct 9th? That is the same wkend as Twin Cities, right? It sounds like everything is shaping up to be an excellent race for you!

Nope, Twin Cities is the week prior, October 2nd. It is the same day as Chicago, October 9th. Which kind of stinks, because I was planning on going down to watch the race and cheer on the 365'ers

Ah that does stink, but then the next day is Columbus Day (which probably doesn't mean much if you don't get holidays off...)

I wish we'd observe holidays like Columbus Day...but alas...not so much. I do have next day off (Columbus Day) as that is when I will be traveling back home.

7 miles
I was thinking about doing tonight's 7 as a fartlek, but opted out of doing so as I was asked to sub volleyball tonight. I figured I would save my legs and do the fartlek tomorrow. I ran 7.37 miles at a 7:41 pace...Tomorrow is supposed to be warm at 94 degrees for the high. Looks like I'll get to sweat again...
