My first snow run of the year Empty My first snow run of the year

Post  charles.moman Mon Jan 02, 2012 6:01 pm

I ran 5-miles on the dirt roads of our local national wildlife refuge this afternoon.
It was 22 with a wind chill of 14 and at times some nice heavy snow.
I love love love running in snow.
I wore tights under the running pants and that worked well.
I had 2 long sleeve tech shirts under the wind jacket and it was too much, but not too bad.
While running I unzipped the jacket and pulled the zipper down on the outside tech shirt.
I need to get it right for my night marathon on January 28.
My wife dropped me off at the visitor center and I ran to the back area where there is an old cabin.
She came back an hour later and picked me up at the cabin. I wish we had the camcorder or DSLR with us, but her cell phone photo is not bad.

Good times.

I agree with you. Snow is a blast as long as its runnable. Just ordered a couple of pairs of shoes for winter running.

Nice picture Charles! I bet running in the snow would be cool (no pun intended). I really miss the snow with living in the south now - everything is so quiet in the snow...

Cool picture! I love running in the snow, and I guess I'll get my share next winter back in Ohio!

That looks really nice. I can imagine seeing you exhaling like an old train would be cool, too.
