Arny Johnson Classic

This was a last ditch effort at a Boston Tune up since I didn't sign up for a half marathon as per usual. So the strategy was to go out conservative and negative split this and finish strong. This is a nice 10 mi annual local race in Rockford IL that raises money for Habitat for Humanity and a tribute to a local man who was hit and killed while bicycling. It runs on the access roads through Rock cut state park and has a series of hills that is a good challenge a few weeks out from Boston. Have to say i feel confident coming off this race as it felt controlled and not at all over extended. Ended with a 17th overall and 2nd AG in official time of 1:07:07 with a negative split.

Nice run, Steven. I've been to Rockford a few times for work in the past and I've run some of that hilly terrain along the river - I can attest that there are some hills.
