This weekend - Run a virtual tribute (and karma rockets) to Charles

I thought it would be a wonderful idea if we each dedicated our run this weekend to Charles as a tribute to what a great guy he is and the fact that he won't be able to run for a while.  This weekend, either day, head out and put healing thoughts out there either in karma rockets, prayer, sending vibes into the universe (whatever works) for a speedy recovery.

Come back here after you've run to this thread and let us know the normal details....distance, road vs trail vs TM, maybe a pic....stuff that Charles would  include in a video!

Great idea, Dot!  I've got 22 to do which is more than an appropriate tribute.

I have 18 this weekend. I'll be thinking of him and will stop and snap a picture or two.

Ran 10.

I ran 10 as well but got stuck on the TM due to rain.  I had google mapped the Indy Mini into my IFit compatible TM so that was somewhat interesting.  Didn't matter though because this was all about Charles and hopefully our prayers, karma rockets and running meditations are helping him to heal quickly and get him back on the trail.

Wasn't sure I was going to be able to run today as we're getting busy on the farm but then I realized that Charles would have made it a priority so I did to...and then I just worked late tonight.   

5 miles for Charles...thanks for the example you set for all of us.  Here's to a speedy recovery.

No kidding, Kevin.  No kidding.  Soldiered through a miserable 20.5 miles on Thursday for Charles and Jerry and added a way better 11 this morning. Visited with Jerry yesterday after the local woman's 5k run and it was tough to see him.  Why do bad things happen to such wonderful people?  I think it it is because whatever the powers that be that you (and they) may believe in, knows they can handle it.

It took a while to put together (my post-production skills are not up to Charles' standards), but I managed to assemble a video of my "Run for Charles" hill workout this morning in the country north of my house. I hope you enjoy the video travelogue, Charles, and I hope to run these hills with you one of these days. I have no doubt that you'll be ready for it.

I ran 18 today and sent good thoughts Charles' way. Here are a couple of photos that I snapped during the run. It was nice to finally get out running by the river (This is the Du Page River near Joliet IL). There was still snow on the trail in some places.

  

11 yesterday and 8 today, all on the mill, and all with gratitude that I can run and prayers that Charles will be able to run again before we know it!

Had 10 planned and tacked on an extra mile, as that seems like something Charles would do.

I ran 11 today and prayed for Charles on my short run yesterday and my 11 today. I hope you are recovering well.  Hang in there!

I ran 20 Saturday morning at Morton Arboretum for Charles.

I ran the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago on Sunday for Charles; not quite his type of run so I will run a trail half marathon this coming Saturday for him also.  Get well soon!!!

Charles, I ran 30 with the ITR group on the 3 Lakes Loop in MMSF. I know you probably would have been there if it were not for this horrible accident. Get well soon!

I ran 8 miles on Saturday...Broke in a new pair of shoes and finally wore a sleeveless shirt outdoors in Wisconsin...although I did wear arm sleeves thought about Charles along the way...stay strong my man!!

How nice of all of you! Tonight I am less drug influenced and I found this thread. What a sweet idea Dot! Last night at rehab - and lightning storm raging out there. Thank you - thank you!
