GET HIGH
So what do you all think about the talk that is going on about the new Nike Slogan "Get High"?

One word "Controversial"
Anyone outside of the running community would not understand its true meaning...

Not necessarily...I played basketball and believe it or not, my first though wasn't running, rather, it was basketball. I instantly thought of a jump shot or slam dunk.
However, I'm sure the "PC police" will be out rather soon....we're heading out to the store to pick a couple shirts up.

Being that Nike also has one that says "DOPE" with a bottle of pills, I don't think they intended anything athletic with them. They are part of their Action Sports / Skateboarding line.

I've got to order mine before they get pulled.

That is what Lisa and I said to each other!
Yes Tim I knew they were for their Action sport/ Skateboarding line. I was just curious what people here would think of them. My personally opinion is that I like them and I get a kick out of em! Wish those shirts were around when I was on tour!

I was only commenting on that since they are for skateboarders and one says "DOPE", I didn't think they were referring to a runner's high.

I was in the Coca Cola store in Vegas and saw this Diet Coke shirt. Unfortunately they don't have men's.

Why would that be a problem, Jerry? You're smaller than her.

Re: GET HIGH
This has actually become a big deal at the Boston Nike store. The mayor walked by and saw them in the window and didn't like them. He wrote them a letter asking them to take it down. They wrote back and said No.

Winner.
Re: GET HIGH
I'm happy to see Nike take on a social issue to try to make the world a better place. I am pleasantly surprised to see that the issue they have taken on is the wasteful nanny state mentality that exists with regard to . . . what? Just a marketing slogan to make more money? Nevermind.

Sorry, has nothing to do with running. Has to do with getting 'air' in snow boarding.

The only reason that "Runner's High" came to mind is that this is a running forum and I thought that Schuey was posting a running related Nike shirt. Come to find out...I was waaaaaayy off base.

From Nike:
The Nike 6.0 JDI "Get High" T-Shirt: Go big or go home
Big, block print promotes an air-obsessed outlook in the Nike 6.0 Just Do It "Get High" Men's T-Shirt, a comfortable fit with a bold tribute to action sports.
