An Arrest in Boston

Just read a report in USA Today that an unconfirmed arrest has been made and will be coming to court soon. I hate to report on speculations, but god I hope this is true.

I heard that there will be an official announcement at 5pm. But the announcement of an official announcement is unofficial!

I'm hearing that they have made a arrest and the suspect is going to Federal court right now. FBI was suppose to have a press conference at 1pm but that was changed to 5pm. They are saying they might be holding this press conference before 5pm now.

Supposedly the guy was caught on Lord & Taylor cameras from across the street along with a local TV station that was walking up and down the street at the location of the 2nd bomb an 1 or so before the bomb went off.

So just speculation at the moment? But it is a good lead...Hopefully they found the bastard!!!

It also looks like other arrest will soon follow, as officials think that the suspect did not act alone.

My Mom and Dad are at Logan airport on the way to Berlin and they called to tell me this.

Yes, I'm seeing this on the CNN site, too. Looking forward to finding out who is responsible for this, and what their motivation was.

I'm glad in a strange way that they back pedaled. I was in Atlanta during the Olympics and I had left the park area shortly before that bomb went off. The guy that they arrested turned out to not be the guy and the false arrest ruined his life. He committed suicide a few years later. This needs to be right. Then hang the bastard.

Then again...I wonder how much information is 'planted' out there by officials in order to keep suspects and such wondering what the $^&*?

You can see how that misunderstanding could happen.

I quit trusting news when I was 10 yrs old and they did a story about me and one of my sisters building a nativity scene out of snow. "Another sister also helped" wrote the reporter and of course she didn't and I learned the reporters generally make things up. Of course a trivial matter compared to this but I really rarely trust the news reporters and mostly read the newspaper for the grocery ads.

Well my thoughts are they have someone arrested. There is a lot of activity going on around the Federal Court house right now.

Anyone who remembers the Richard Jewell saga from the '96 Olympics in Atlanta should understand why law enforcement needs to stay absolutely silent on the topic of 'suspects' until they are certain.

I do hate this rush to judgement and the need to be first. "First on 4", "Only on 7"..............get it right. Sorry I started this thread. I guess I'm just as bad.

Could be semantics. Could be someone in custody for questioning, but no arrests/charges yet.

They'll find him. There's some astounding photographic evidence that's being disseminated. I don't know where they're getting all this stuff, but it's still fascinating to look through.

And it took 7 years to arrest the real guy.
