I think it was up for an hour and then Hal erased it. I was pissed because really it wasn't that bad. I actually did the Friday Thread through Private Messaging. I only saw the answers and most thought it was fine. Hell I think my everyday posts are way worse. hahahha

Okay I just went to TP. Wow it's way different over there. All my messages are gone Even those first Tim/Chas ones. Bummer! At least we printed out our first blogs before those were deleted. But the Friday thread is gone.

I was not on the old site that long, and I had been AWOL for several months before returning right as the proverbial shit hit the fan. Therefore, I can't add much to the history of that place and this one. I do have similar experience where a group of us (a rather large group) left a much larger site and started our own forum. It is much, much better and none of us ever went back. The issues that we had appear to be similar, and I can tell you that the more think about it, the more you will wonder why this didn't happen before. Enjoy it, you have a good group of what appear to have become real life friends and now you have control over your own fate.

I will say that I never understood (nor will I ever understand) the heavy handed moderation of that place. I was a paying customer. I don't get to treat my clients like children, nor would I ever presume to do so. Frankly, I never saw anything there (with one possible exception) that required any intervention or reaction from Hal. In fact, I would guess that most people toned it down for Hal's benefit.

I was a bit of a problem child from time to time... as was Tim M... and Chas... and Mrs Shuey... and... well, that's probably all.
