3 mile recovery...
3.13 miles at an 8:41 recovery pace. Legs were pretty tired, but I was expecting that. Hopefully they will freshen up tomorrow. I have a client in town tomorrow, so I have to go out to dinner with them tomorrow night. Of course, that cuts into my training, so I am planning on doing my scheduled 6 tomorrow morning.

6 miles
As I stated last night, I have a client in town today and have to do dinner with them tonight. So, I got up early this morning and got my run in. It was an easy 6 miles, with not much effort put into it. The cooler temps are really paying off, as my effort is going down, but the times are staying the same or getting better. Finally tally, 6.29 miles at a 7:46 pace.

Hospital marketing teams. I provide marketing strategy to hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout the country. You know, tell them who to marketing to, when to market to them, and how to market to them.

See what happens Chas you try to pay the guy a compliment and he tells you he knows. Man oh man see what happens when people start to become running studs!
Just kidding Nick!

I see. Sounds like you could sure stay busy with that. It is always interesting to see competing hospitals (I work at one) and how they each try to say they have the most advanced (whatever specific area).

7 miles
7.34 miles at a 7:48 pace tonight. This is my last run for the week until my relay race on Friday. I will run a 5.2 mile leg, 9.2 mile leg, and a 6 mile leg for a total of 20.4 miles at below MP. I'll consider this my speedwork for the week I think that it is going to be weird running 9.2 miles at 3 in the morning. I am hoping to average somewhere around a 6:50 pace or better for the three legs combined.

3 AM - yikes! Good luck with the relay - sounds like fun and I look forward to reading how it all goes. How do you plan to stay loose between the runs?

I am not sure yet. Our van will have some downtime wihile the other van is running. So, I will probably do some light running as it gets closer to my turn to go.

3 a.m. running? I did start a long run at 330 last fall/early winter to beat an incoming snow storm. It was brutal but I was so glad it was done before Sunday came with high winds and blowing snow.

I know...I am actually not that worried about the 3am running as much as I am about racing three different distances in less than 24 hours.

Scheduled off day
Yesterday was our annual company Milwaukee Brewers outing. So, I did not get to leave for Minneapolis until around 7pm. I made good time though and made it to Minneapolis before midnight. Now this morning I have to meet up with my team and ride with them back down to Winona, MN for the start of the race. Our team starts at 1pm, but my first leg does not start until sometime between 5:45pm and 7pm. I will keep you all updated on how things are going.

Ragnar Relay
Leg 1 was a 5.2 miler with some killer hills. I finished with a 7:06 pace, including a 6:22 last mile. I will post official results and elevation later.

Leg 2 in the books. 9.2 miles at a 7:08 pace. Not bad for a 3:30am start with no sleep. Leg 3 is not until 11:30am. Time to rest up.

Ragnar Relay
After getting only 1.5 hours of shitty sleep over the night, I ran my Leg 2 and Leg 3 runs. Leg 3, which was my third and final leg consisted of a 6 miler. Most of this run was downhill and I busted ass all the way down, in route to passing 11 other teams. I was running at a 6:39 pace for the first 5 miles and then my left quad cramped up. I guess that all of the fast downhills finally caught up with me. I managed to finsih the sixth and final mile at just under an 8 minute pace to finish the run at an average of 6:50.
Overall, our team did fairly well. As of right now I do not know the official results, but will post later. Now I am going to finally try to get some sleep.
Goodnight!!
