B) Sub 3:03
C) (Extreme Stretch Goal) Sub 3:00
A) Sub 3:05

Re: Race Day Goals...
Let's assume the weather, illness, etc., are out of the equation:
A) Finish
B) Don't finish last
C) PR (< 3:36:34)
D) < 3:35 (this would be BQ - 5 minutes for me)
E) <= 3:30 (this is my prime goal)

Re: Race Day Goals...
1. First and foremost, actually finish the race by hook or by crook!
2. Don't turn my ankle, take any hard falls or step on a rattlesnake.
3. Finish under 9 hours
4. Finish in top 5 although this will largely be determined by who shows up on race night.

Re: Race Day Goals...
1. Run with my wife and not have her kill me by the end. Her PR is 4:53, but does not think she can break 5...she is saying a conservative 5:30. so I will "encourage" her for 5 hours +/- to beat her goal at the very least.
2. Finish healthy so I can consider a goal race in March
3. Do a marathon harrier hash or whatever (i.e. run in front of Julie and down a beer while I wait). She said this would be a fun idea.

While I don't have a race on the schedule since I just ran mine last wkend, when I do run another marathon I am still going for
1. finish
2. 4:10 (PR)
3 4:05 (should be manageable with injury free training).

Hope finish my 20 miles early enough so that I can follow some of you, while watching EPL.

Re: Race Day Goals...
Running the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday - goals have been toned down quite a bit given that I missed a couple of months of training through injury...
Minimum: Get to the finish
Decent run: Better than my current slowest marathon (3:37.33)
Pretty satisfied: Sub-3:30
One of those days where everything goes my way: Sub-3:20
I'll need to settle up that bargain for my soul with the Devil afterwards: PR (better than 3:16.24)
A pretty wide range, I know, but it's hard to say what sort of shape I'm in given the length of time I wasn't able to run - my training runs over the last couple of weeks have been very solid (and surprisingly quick for the heart rate/effort), but I know that my relative lack of mileage will catch up with me if I'm too aggressive early on.

That's right HTFU. Hey Jerry, It looks like I'm going to be traveling to Plano every 3 weeks for work.
