Oh my, Kevin - be smart - and read Nancy's blog as her experiences training on a Beta Blocker are worth reading (and something I keep in the back of my mind).

As for me, more tri training and the shit is getting real with a "practice" tri next weekend.

Mon - 2200 yds Swimming; Core work w/Jake
Tues - Rode 35 miles in morning; 5.0 miles with Hill repeats w/Sole Train Group in evening
Wed - 1500 yd Recovery Swim; Core work w/Jake
Thurs - 6 miles with 10 x 400m repeats
Fri - 25 miles at CHQ - gotta get used to those hills
Sat - 44 miles
Sun - Supposed to be 10-11 miles Running; 1500 yds in the pool or OWS  (we will see)

Welcome to my world Kevin.  It's a bit scary at first but give your mind and your body time to adjust and you'll find it's not that bad after all.

Sounds like you're going to just have to lay low until Friday when they do the stress test and figure out what is going on and how they intend to fix it.

The fact that they scheduled the stress test for next week seems to send the message that they don't think it's an emergency.  I went straight to the emergency room when they read my EKG.  They did an angioplasty of my lad and removed the blood clot that was blocking the artery.  They weren't able to put a stent in.  My event occurred during Boston 2015 so it's been a bit over a year.  My activities were very restricted the first 6 months.  They gradually allowed me to do more and finally released me in March to train for a marathon.

I am still on a Beta Blocker and may be for quite some time.  I was warned that training may be extremely difficult.  It is tough...especially the warm up period but it's getting better and I've learned a lot in the last few months.  I'm more than happy to answer questions if/when you have any.

I'd say don't worry but I know you will...  The heart is an amazing organ that has a unique ability to compensate for damage and figure out how to work efficiently.

Stay safe.

Oh, geez, Kevin! Take care of yourself! And let us know what the stress EKG determines.
