IN. This is a no-brainer for me. Great to have a marathon major in my back yard. Bus to train to start and my running association's compound blocks from the start.

ok - I guess I will sign up. If I eat $150 so be it. Won't be the first $$ I've wasted in my life. I have a free place to stay downtown with some relatives.

Re: Ready for Chicago Registration?
I'm not running, but I did book a hotel - so my hubby and I will be there to enjoy the weekend. I love to party at a marathon I'm not running . (And I'll pace anyone as a bandit through 13)

Join me in the Chicago-Philly double? My cut off is 49 degrees. That or cooler and it is 'A' race. Otherwise, LSD run and Philly becomes the goal.
I am definitely thinking about this. I've done Philly three times and PR'd each one, it's a great race.

Assuming it is accurate, so far over 25,000 registrations are in the system.
Search Results ( 1 to 25 of 25021 )

Use % in the search field?
I actually haven't signed up. I think I need a year off from Chicago.
Re: Ready for Chicago Registration?
Dave, this is the year... Perfect weather on a gorgeous early October day! Post-race festivities and celebration of all the shiny new PRs!
Sure, you can skip this year... but it will be the year you wish you'd raced... 2:2X for you... 2:4X for me...

Dave-O - the only way to get the monkey off your back is to go back and kill it. Sign up!!!
Re: Ready for Chicago Registration?
We should not pressure Dave-O on this race. He will have much better luck weather-wise with a later fall marathon.

And that's all it is, luck. No guarantees on any race. A later fall race could be an ice storm, high winds, locust, 4 horsemen of the apocolypse, etc... it's a crap-shoot.
Dave needs pressure to perform. What turns coal into a diamond? I'm in for 2:4X this year. Game on!

Re: Ready for Chicago Registration?
Dave isn't registering because he wants that pressure of the sub 1:11 half on him so he qualifies for the dev-elite corral and late registration. He's a little warped.

Chances of an ice storm, high winds, locust, 4 horsemen < 1% (well, maybe more for the winds)
Chances of a warm Chicago > 80%

I actually like this thought process. Warped, indeed.

It's pretty good motivation...
