No Hood to Coast == other ideas

Well, as hard as I've tried I can't get my sibs to commit to Hood to Coast in '12. I don't want to fork over $1300 only to have them all bail and have to recruit a bunch of strangers 
-- not you guys.
So I live in Detroit and might be able to recruit them for something a little more local. Any ideas for a first relay -- couple of hundred miles or so?

Dances with Dirt, the one the other side of Ann Arbor from you.
