Steve Jobs just passed away. Quite the visionary.

Very sad as he was still a young man.

As I said on the Facebook (Wink)...I am not a huge fan of Apple, but I respected him for being an innovator in the technology industry...

RIP, Steve Jobs. As Patton Oswalt put it, he was the closest thing we had to Tony Stark.

And yes, I'm a Machead. I've used the Macintosh IIci; PowerMac 7200; Performa 6200; Power Computing somethingorother; iMac DV (Sage, slot-loading); iMac G5; iMac (Intel based) x 2; Mac mini (Intel based); iPod Shuffle; iPod Touch; iPad.

Operating systems: Started with 7.2, and everything since.

That he did all he did - and was only 56 when he died - is just astounding.

One more time, for old times' sake.

Reasons to consider Steve Jobs not 'one of the best', but 'THE BEST' CEO in history. Compelling stuff, I think.

I'm not a huge fan of Apple though I use almost all their products. But he was a visionary and will go down in tech history as one of the top innovators there were.

Sad Sad

He was so young.

What the hell are we all going to do when Hugh Hefner dies? Yes I'm serious.

The way he looks, it may be sooner than you think. I am guessing that all of the cardio helps keep him healthy Wink

I remember saving up all my money taking out a loan to buy my first Macintosh back in 1984. It was the then super deluxe Macintosh 512k - a.k.a The Fat Mac. Ever since, given the choice, I would pick another Mac. When Jobs returned to Apple, I rushed out and bought the gumdrop iMac. I've lost count of the number of Macs, iMacs, iPods, iPhones and iPads I've owned. Hell, I even have 2 Apple TVs.

I'm hoping that Steve was able to imprint his vision for product design and simplicity into the leadership at Apple. The last thing we need is for Apple to return to the glory years of John Sculley and Jean-Louis Gassée.

Nicely said dear but I had to google the Fat Mac. I was only 8. Hard to remember when you're that young.

I love the Apple tab on the MacBook right now. Very simply stated: it's a nice picture of Steve Jobs with his birth year and death year. What I love about it, is that that is all that is needed to state who he was; he was that much of an influence in all of our lives.

RIP Steve.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
King James Version (KJV)
Ecclesiastes 3

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I started with a Mac SE (1MB RAM) - 2 floppy drives and no HD.
Then a Color Classic, 7200, G4 450 dual and now my Mac Pro - 16GB RAM and TBs of HD.
Totally transformed what I did - especially in my composing and photography.
Great products that just worked - I love no viruses too. Very Happy

Wow. Just got internet back (ughhhh) and didn't understand all the facebook statuses that were cleverly alluding to his death. I happen to dislike Apple quite a bit, but still. Sad day.

We had Apples in the school I taught at and always did, so when we finally bought our first home computer in 1995 (gasp) we bought an Apple--don't even remember the model though. When I got our second Apple (the graphite iMac) we also got the iPod, first generation, in 2002. I still have it and it still works! I use it in the car because the battery actually will go for a few hours! The computer I'm typing on is my 3rd laptop, a MacBook Pro and it is on year 5. My second laptop is still used to watch DVD's in the exercise room. I just love the iLife tools because I do a lot of video production!

One of my favorite posters in my classroom is an Apple ad with Jim Henson and Kermit:
