Grass Running

I am running mostly on dry grass now, thanks for the drought. I am getting better handling the uneven surfaces etc. One problem is some tiny grass/leaf gets into my shoes once awhile that I stopped 3-4 times this morning.

Any tip from you trail runners?

Most definitely the best. I met the woman who created them once while assisting a friend training for Badwater in DV. She's a kick - but I scored a free pair of camo ones. I wear them when I run on the dusty, cinder trails here during our drought.

Hey Jerry how long are your grass runs? do you keep your same pace or does the grass slow you down(not counting time you stop to pick grass out of shoes).Is the grass mowed and short ?

I imagine the grass is brown and looks like West Texas, i.e. thin, low and sparse.

oz is right. It's been terribly dry here this year. I run on the grass along city's jogging/bike trail.

Still, the grass slows me down significantly. Having done this just for a week, I am surprised how fast I adapt to it this week. I feel I can handle real grass, like a good soccer field, which I did run before, much better now.
