Last year it was PF. That seems to be gone, at least for now.

Now, in the center of the forefoot pad on my left foot hurts to walk on barefoot. It's one spot right in the middle. Any idea what this is?

How long has it been like that? I had something similar from stepping on a decent sized rock during a run with shoes that had very little cushioning. It went away within a week or two.

Hard to say. Seems like it started a 10 days - 2 weeks ago. Definitely feels more like a bruise or something than a muscle issue.

I know that there are nerves that run along the bottom of foot towards the toes. Sometimes they get pinched and cause pain to the ball of the foot. It is called metatarsalgia.

Without knowing more about it, it sounds like metatarsalgia (inflammation/pain of the metatarsal head). It is common in runners. I had it many years ago in college and put some foam rubber underneath the sore area which helped. Perhaps wear thicker socks or wear a more cushioned shoe for awhile. Could be something else, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Yep. That's the term. Jerry has it and some heel pain as well. Reducing mileage helps. So does running on softer surface.

About metatarsalgia, there was an old thread. Some suggested some shot that I am ready to do except I am ok on that part now.

I will be on soft surface this week and maybe next.

Thanks, guys. In my typical fashion, I'm going to act like it will just go away on its own for a while. Biggest issue is when I am barefoot, so I'll be wearing shoes around the house.
