I've got a pain on my left hip right at the iliac crest (?), well it feels like that is where the pain is. If I push on the hip bone it HURTS.
I am OK with running. I am OK 95% of the day. The pain hits me when I get up from sitting from an extended period of time. Or when I gently push on the bone. The pain feels just like a bruise.

What do I have?

Had same pain year one of running typically caused by misalignment. It took many many adjustment and strength training that area to help. Ultimately chiro can realign but if not strengthend it can misalign again. I also feel orthodics help reduce time at chiro. Used to go 3x per week now only for acute niggles and routine adjustments maybe 1 per month or two.

ANTERIORLY ROTATED PELVIS.

I don't know what you have but I know how to help.

I know it sounds weird.

Sleep on your stomach. It will be hard at first but try to do it as long as you can. You'll probably move to your side or back through the night but even if you have to bring your good side (knee bent at 90 degree angle) it will help. After a few nights, you'll start to feel better. Avoid the couch if you can and sit at the kitchen table or something. Hard chair

Hope this helps! Feel better!

Pt and chiro tells me sleep on your side with pillow between your legs. Take time to get used to but it helped keep me aligned.

Not a problem for me, I curl up in the fetal position and cry myself to sleep every night.

Maybe not! or maybe yest

Hip bursitis is a common problem that causes pain over the outside of
the upper thigh. A bursa is a fluid filled sac that allows smooth
motion between two uneven surfaces. For example, in the hip, a bursa
rests between the bony prominence over the outside of the hip (the
greater trochanter) and the firm tendon that passed over this bone. When
the bursal sac becomes inflamed, each time the tendon has to move over
the bone, pain results. Because patients with hip bursitis move this
tendon with each step, hip bursitis symptoms can be quite painful.
