GoFundUs! (for domain name renewal cost)
Hi everybody,
I got the annual auto-renewal notice from GoDaddy for our web address and various sundry items.
It's $17.99/year for the .COM domain renewal and another $27.98/year for their "Ultimate Domain Protection and Security Renewal" package. $45.97 total.
It's not a ton of money, but it'd be nice to split the tab.
If you're able to kick in something, please let me know below and we'll figure out how to make it work.
Thanks!
Mark

Here's how it prices out for multiple years. No cost savings.
1 year: $50.03
2 years: $100.05
3 years: $150.08
5 years: $250.13
So I guess it depends how much we feel like offering up. Thoughts?

I'm happy to do whatever the group thinks is best. If we go multi year then you don't have to hassle with renewing and gathering money every year. I'm good with a long term commitment but if others are unsure this will still be viable in the future then maybe a shorter commitment is optimal.Mark B wrote:Here's how it prices out for multiple years. No preference on my part. I'll go with whatever the group decides.

Okay, it looks like there are five of us willing to chip in.
That'd work out to:
$10 each for 1 year. ($50 total)
$20 each for 2 years. ($100 total)
$30 each for 3 years. ($150 total)
$50 each for 5 years. ($250 total)
There is no discount for multiple years.
I'm afraid I don't know how to embed a voting round in this, so you'll just have to let me know what amount/time sounds best to you.
So what's your vote? $50 each seems a bit much, but $20-$30 seems more reasonable.

I'm fine with $20, but could go $30, if Mark renounces barefoot running.

Thirty bucks per person for three years seems about right on both cost and duration.
I'm good with that without binding Mark's feet with (gasp!) shoes.

This right here is why I like Kevin better...
Sounds like we're leaning toward $30. Does that sound OK with the rest of you?

Thanks, Kevin! And also thanks Doug, Michele and Nancy! Everything went smoothly and we're good for another three years.
