Wow!  That's impressive to say the least.  Hard to even imagine!

The Bend paper ran an article about Kipchoge on the Saturday before the race.  I set it aside but didn't have time to read it until a few days after the race.  It's pretty interesting.  He mentions not pushing to hard during training and saving his best effort for race day.  They included several quotes.  A couple of my favorites...

  • "It's not about the legs; it's about the heart and the mind."
  • "The best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago.  The second-best time to plant a tree is today."

He's an interesting and inspiring person...not just as a runner but as a person.  At least according to the article.  I may save it and reread it when I get a bit discouraged and start to feel sorry for myself.
