Boston get together?

OK, are we getting together for a meal at Boston? I think KB usually organizes something but I don't think he will be there as he's doing London the following week. Last year, I thought there was a dinner on Saturday and a lunch on Sunday. I don't know the area and only was able to make the Sunday meal last time. Any ideas here, I know we need to make plans for the weekend.

Thanks for getting this started John. I have dinner plans for Sunday evening, but I'm available for any other gathering, either before or after the marathon. I think it's a good bet that it will be tough to get a reservation for Sunday evening at many places this late in the game, so if somebody would like to suggest a place for either a Saturday dinner or Sunday lunch, that would be great. The other option is meeting for beers after the race. Two years ago, Chris volunteered his hotel room and a bunch of us came straight from the finish. If someone wouldn't mind opening up their room, that would be awesome (Unfortunately, I don't have a hotel room for Monday night).

Open to about any time, probably Saturday afternoon or evening is best.

I have dinner plans for both nights, but would love to meet up. Last year, we met in the Food Court at the Pru (Hynes) where the Expo is this year on Saturday late afternoon and hung around for a bit which will probably work out again. I think we did this around 4-4:30 pm and then some people left for other plans, etc. I don't know if people met up afterwards as I had to leave after the race.

I'd be game for something like that on Saturday or Sunday late afternoon and then maybe a meet up after the race. I'd open up my hotel room, but I'm guessing I'll be finished long after most of you and the Lenox might think it a bit weird for some women to invite all these guys up to her room . Maybe we can plan a Monday night get together though. The Lenox has an Irish pub on the ground floor which has Guiness on tap (all I need) and I know some running friends are headed to Cheers.

There will be 5 of us. 3 runners and 2 hangers on. Already have Sat nite dinner plans at Maggianos. Could do the food court before. Have some flexibility Sun too. Could do a few Guiness after the race. We'll be about an hour apart from fastest to slowest. I usually need an hour afterwards, sometimes in the medical tent, to recover to actually get back to the hotel. Figure two hours til I'm functional. The actual race takes a lot out of me. So drinks after 3pm somewhere Mon sounds in the ballpark for me.

The food court seemed to work well last year as a number of people were able to show up. I enjoyed the time there. We stay in the burbs so meeting after the race is probably out for us (Connie and Hannah will be with me). So late lunch on Sat.(we arrive late Sat. AM) or Sunday would work if that is what the group decides.

Saturday may be tough for us, as we're heading to CT to visit my great aunt and I don't know how long we'll be there. We may be able to make Saturday evening. Sunday would work out good and it's become tradition for the meet up post race!

A few people have mentioned the food court at the Prudential. It seems to be a question of whether Saturday or Sunday afternoon is best for everyone. Can we get a head count on which day is preferable?
I'm also hoping we can get together post-race.

I vote Sunday. Don't get to BOS until mid-afternoon Sat anyway. By the time you get your bib, etc., might be later.

Either works for me. My daughter and I might take in the Sox game on Sunday, so it would have to be after 4PM.

I have dinner plans for Sunday early evening, but if that ends up being the consensus, I'd try to at least stop by for a quick hello. Still hoping for a post race gathering.

Is this the summary:

Saturday - 4:30 PM, Prudential Food Court (not sure where we meet as I couldn't make this last year)

Sunday - not sure, no consensus, I am going to the Sox game so unlikely to meet up

Monday - I am happy to open my room up for post race beers but worry about my finishing time and when I'll get there. If I have a head count, I can get some beers for the room. I'd be interested in meeting for dinner too on Monday night.

My trip to Boston is now in question due my latest setback (take a look at my blog for more details), but assuming I'm ok and decide to make the trip, I'll try to make it to any and all gatherings, (with the exception of Sunday evening dinner). My cell # is (914) 609-8086.

My cell is: 678-763-2721 which you will need anyway in case you need to call me about the hotel room. The Food Court at 4:30 is perfect. This food court is in the Prudential Mall which is also where the Hynes Auditorium is and the Expo this year. You can get there just by walking across the street and entering through the Sheraton.

I'm going to the Sox game too - so I'm also most likely out for Sunday as I found out that the dinner plans are at 5.

After the game in John's room sounds good as I'll be long after you John. Hopefully we can make plans to meet up at athlete's village.

Yeah!! I'm sure you are better than me right now. My hip,quad, ITB issue has really bothered me this week.
