Socks

So, the place I usually get my running socks is no longer stocking my preferred brand. I can't find them anywhere online either. I'm looking for suggestions for a no show, moisture wicking sock that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The one caveat to this is that I absolutely can't stand the kind that have the tighter band around the mid-foot. I'm totally bummed about this because I missed the last of them by a couple weeks. Boo.

I've never settled on a particular brand/style that I like most but I should. It would make matching them a whole lot easier. I will say that of all the random brands I have, I think I like the Balega ones the most. Here's an example:

I'm with you, Jim. I hate socks with elastic around the arch. I'll be interested to see what suggestions you get.

I've worn Wright Socks (the CoolMeshII is the one I use) for years. They're a little pricey but hold up pretty well. There is a little elastic in the arch but not enough to feel constricting.

The other sock that comes to mind that still wear and use to always race in is the Asics Kayano sock.

I've been rocking the no-shows injinjis for awhile now. I like really thin socks so I use the 'lightweight' models.

I love my injinjis. They definitely help me with preventing toe blisters and I like them in general since they are thin and light, yet sturdy. They don't wear holes in them as fast as my other thin socks.

Asics Kinesi (sp?). Find they last the longest but they should for $14

Nike elites wore out on me after a few runs (the newer versions)

The old style I have for now 6 years and still in good shape go figure.

I have a number of socks in the drawer but first pick is usually the Balega unless it is cold or wet and then I tend to choose the Smartwool.

I used to wear Balegas a few years ago when I liked a thicker sock but then got away from them. This sock is just a touch thicker than I usually like but it's oh so soft. Balegas are nice.
