I can work down my weight to 125 by Houston. No worries.

Re: Never Blame Others!
After the lazy start, I have to say the week ends pretty well.
July 9, Monday: lazy, really sore from the soccer, but a recovery run would've helped.
July 10, Tuesday: 3(got up too late).
July 11, Wednesday: 5(got up too late).
July 12, Thursday: 12(nice)
July 13 13, Friday: 12(nice)
July 14, Saturday: 10(nice), could've pushed for another 2, but decided to be cautious cause the legs were getting very tight.
July 15, Sunday: 8 easy in the morning, muscles again got very tight, thus called it off. Did 3 miles to loose up in the afternoon when Lucy was in her soccer team training. The training ended early due to lighting. So we drove home, I went to play soccer for maybe 90 minutes.
Lucy joined club soccer. Regular training starts this week, Tuesday&Thursday 5:30-7:00pm, Friday: 4:30-6:00pm(it's very hard to attend this one as both my wife and I work full time), Sunday: 5:00-6:15pm.
I only like to run in the morning. But as it is my responsibility to drive Lucy to these trainings, I plan to do easy runs in these times.
As the assistant coach of Lucy's rec team before the club soccer, one thing I hated was parents told us coaches what to do. So as now I am switching my role, I decided not to get emotional involved in her soccer and just support and enjoy watching her games. Soccer is not that complicated. If Lucy wants to play and train, she will improve. True to any other kids. Coaches are just coaches. Though everything I see so far about her new team and coaches are great. Not to get carry away too much, we will have to wait and see what happens when the games really start.
I've also informed my soccer team captain that I am going back to play the fall season.

Congrats on the solid finish to the week and I agree about the coaches/parents....just enjoy the game for what it is, a game. Don't make it complicated.

Heehee. Lazy Jerry just got started. The marathon is in January, plenty of time.

I cannot believe this but I might actually find myself agreeing with Jerry. Maybe it's time to get my head checked!
But I tend to believe breaking up a long run over two days isn't all that bad and has some advantages. 1. If you don't have the time to get in a 24 mile run I think it would be better to split the run up into two vs. not doing it at all. Plus I have found that doing back to back days of 12 to 15 mile runs can actually be harder then doing 1 long run. I actually did this a lot a couple of years ago training for Boston and it actually worked out well for me. I would also have to dig it up but I believe there is an article out there about splitting long runs up over a couple days.
So Jerry I give my approval on this one! At least your building those run distances back up good work.

That idea is kind of like the Hanson Bros plan that Davila uses for marathon training. Her long runs never go over 18 miles. Her last marathon pace run before London will be a 26.2K (yes, K) simulator. The magic is in what they call cumulative fatigue...the idea that you are training for that last 10K and have to learn how to run on tired legs. It's similar to HH idea of a 10 mile pace run with a 20 mile slow long run after, but they also never run as slowly as most plans suggest that you do, because they are never running that long, and of course she is running 120 miles a week. At least that is how I am interpreting what I have read...
Re: Never Blame Others!
Didn't realize the race was in January. Plus, just wanted to give Jerry a hard time. 10-14mi runs are best distance, anyway. Sheesh, guys, getting all serious on me...

Jerry is lazy, he admits it, but on race day the guy is a freaking machine! I love giving a hard time though because he is one lazy runner during training.

Re: Never Blame Others!
Looks like I am on my way to clear my lazy brand name.
Monday: 5
Tuesday: AM 8,
PM 4 during Lucy's soccer training session.
Wednesday: AM 6(got up a little late), Noon 6
worked from home, so I went to Life Time for another 6.
I joined Life Time only so that we could register Lucy in its summer camp. One of those days, I will go put 20 miles on their TM just to get my money worthy.
Thursday: AM 4, very tired.
Lucy's soccer practice again later, I will see if I can put in another run.

4 in pm during Lucy's soccer training. Learned more about the area, especially the restroom in the mall cross the street. Now I know where I can go change and pee, I am good.
37 miles already this week. I am quite tired, but feel good on my progress.

Quite some junk miles like MrMatt style, much fewer mileage, but I believe every mile counts. I know it will work for me at least.

5 Friday morning. 42 wtd. 138lbs, not too worried about the weight as I haven't really overeaten, but couldn't cut either.

Sorry bro didn't mean to get all serious on you. I was just trying make Jerry feel good about his laziness for running!

Saturday
AM 8 miles, anticipating soccer practice, thus opted out more.
Stayed in water park whole afternoon with Lucy and her friend, then played soccer.
We signed the contract of the house, negotiating down 5k, fUnny, exact the number Lucy called when we decided to make an offer.

So what's going Jerry less running and more playing around? Although I can't blame you a water park sure does sound like a good time!

Sunday: 4 miles recovery.
Weekly: 54 with one soccer practice, a step up from last week in mileage, but only two 8 miles. Whatever, I feel tired, good tired.
Monday, July 23: rest.
