Btw, EURO 2012 is not a conference to solve EURO crisis.

Group B is Germany, Netherlands, Portgual and Denmark. Only 2 advance! Those group matches are Saturday. Tomorrow, I have to decide whether to do my run on the mill timed to watch Poland v Greece or Russia v Czech. I think I'm leaning towards the 2nd game. But then the US has an actual World Cup qualifier starting at 7pm! So much soccer....so little time!

So you quit coaching your daughter's team?
I am the assist coach and just less than a year, we fired two parents and one quit due to playtime. Definitely much more emotional than watching EPL.

No way, I can't be released from coaching her team. I had no idea when I signed up 7 years ago (she was 4) that it was a lifetime appointment. Good memory that practices are usually Friday nights! Thursday night - tonight - this week so I'm freed up to watch USA soccer Friday night.

I wonder if any of those group B teams could even score on Uruguay. Amazing how high that little country is now ranked.
If Czechoslovakia is still playing its counterattacking style, I'd go with team USA at 7pm.

I don't bother to guess the results for top 16 European countries. Anyone can beat anyone. I will just enjoy watching or switch off when it gets boring.

Re: Just realized
Was in Niketown today. They had a bunch of country-specific stuff - jerseys, shorts, warm-ups, including some awesome Netherlands stuff. I thought aboout getting something for Billy as a celebration of his heritage, until I saw the prices. YEOWCH!
Would have been good stuff to get at the Nike Employee Store for 50% off instead of socks, though.
They also had an awesome mobile about 20 feet wide and about 15 feet up in the air that used Nike Frees laid back-to-back to form a swoosh.
