BADASS 500 - Coming Soon?

I was considering raising money for Colon Cancer Awareness through running what I may Call the BADASS 500. Original name was going to be the Sphincter 1000. But I think BADASS 500 is more appropriate. I figured since I turn 40 next year this would be a good time to check the colon and get the word out there they should be looking up their butt as well. The quest would be something like

• 16 marathon under 4 hours maybe even 3:45 why not!
  
• 1 50k
  
• 1 50 mile
  

Total of 500 miles in 20-24 weeks. (not including training runs) Logistically I think I can pull it from June through November with JFK 50 being the last race.

There would be a few double marathon back to back Sat/Sun.

Now this is nothing that has not been done before with some crazy marathon maniacs. I mean 52 in 52 weeks although not common is sort of old hat. But to the regular person or even reg. runner I still think it has a nice ring to it. Kind of needs a hook not sure what yet.

Main issue is I think it is very hard to raise money I would need sponsors, marketing efforts, etc. I'd like to raise something substantial. The time and energy it may take to make this happen maybe be harder then running this in itself.

Assuming it is to difficult to make this a charity effort then I am just running it for myself. I do get joy out of running "FUN" marathons/ I think I can pull it off.

PS: Without the support of the wife this will NOT happen! I am looking the logistics to come up with a "family plan". Keep mind I have philly in a few weeks I would like to BQ if I do or even come close to BQing I might concentrate on that for 2012. But just one my many 2012 ideas.

Sounds ambitious. Fun, but ambitous and taxing on the calendar.

I could but that cost much more money and maybe even that more painful. I love it!

Ambitious Fun and taxing I agree. I think the taxing on the calendar more so then the body is what concerns me. We will see where we go with it.
