That's how you know you pushed yourself hard enough

Anything good over the weekend?

Re: That was Zen this is Now!
Thanks Neil.
Sat was easy 5 Sunday 14 with 4 @MP in the trails. HR was quite high on Sunday's run but pace was quick. LSD portion was 8:15 HR 162 last 4 where 7:32 HR 177 avg. Not thrilled with the HR #'s but hopefully it will come down as I get closer to Philly. I really need to be in 170-175 land for a good portion only hitting over 177 after mile 20.

Continuing to look good Kenny. Hitting some of those marathon pace miles is definitely important with 5 weeks to go. How do you like the Brook T7's?

I love the Brook T7's for racing and speed work. I am going to use them for the marathon. NOt sure how my legs will hold up but for the HM I did great in them but was sore for a few days after.
Re: That was Zen this is Now!
Back in the saddles with 8 miles @ GA w/8x100 strides. My HR responded well with 160 on avg which is where i want it to be fore a 7:49 pace overall. Only 15sec slower than MP pace which I would like my hr to stay around 170-175 for a good chunk of the marathon.
Re: That was Zen this is Now!
Looking good Kenny! I have been tossing around the idea of buying a pair of T7s myself - do you train much in them or just wear them on race days? I might do it anyway, but I hate spending good money on a shoe that I can't train very much in. I absolutely love my zoot ultra speeds and would love to wear them a bunch more, but I know they won't stand up to much training before wearing out... I know the T7s come highly recommended...

They will be fine the more your feet get used to the lighter flats. I would alternate using them on your long runs (every other week) leading up to the marathon.

I love the shoes and wear them so far for LT's runs, Intervals and Races up until 13.1. However, I will be using them for marathon but have never gone more than 13.1 on pavement and 20 on TM. I would not use them long runs every weekend but to alternate as Kory said is a good idea. I will do that next cycle.
They do wear out for me on toe area of the sole. This is common with out reviews I have read but not all.

Good luck this weekend Kenny. I assume you're still running it.

Have a great race this weekend, Kenny. Try not to give out any water, ok?

Come on Kenny, you deserve to break through and get a new PR. Don't slow down! And, no working at the water stations this time. This is YOUR race!!

Thanks everyone! Randy no plans to work the stations this Sunday.
I have been running consistently to plan. I took a bit more aggressive taper this time to see how that serves me. Basically, been running reacovery runs some strides and a few days ago 2 miles @ MP.
Goal A: 3:18:XX
Goal B: Sub 3:20
Goal C: 3:23
Goad D: Sub 3:27 (new PR)
Re: That was Zen this is Now!
Those are some ambitious goals, Kenny! Good luck out there.
