Improvised Handheld Hydration
As I battled the the heat today during my long run, I got pretty irritated with holding my water bottle on one hand, and my singlet on the other (I peel my shirt off if it's completely drenched). So I had a little light bulb moment to come up with something that would solve this problem.
Step 1: Put the water bottle through the two openings for arms on the singlet.

Step 2: With the remaining of the singlet, wrap around your wrist, then around the bottom of the bottle.

Step 3: Thread the end of the singlet through the loop around your wrist and pull to tighten it.

Step 4: Adjust to your liking. You can put your thumb in, or leave it out of the singlet.

Step 5: Results may vary - but keep running.
Being the cheap ass that I am, I've been refusing to buy a handheld strap for the longest time. But I think I'll adapt to this strategy from now. Although I don't know if this will work with anything other than singlets.

Re: Improvised Handheld Hydration
Shit I wish you would had posted this a couple of weeks ago. I finally went out and bought a handheld water bottle thing. Normally I don't have to worry about it on the lakefront path due to water fountains and rest areas. With doing more trail running I had to do something cause I hate holding the thing in my hand! Great idea Kevin.
