Wow...where did you run in Bend?  There are some awesome trails.

You didn't happen to run Eagle Creek in Cascade Locks did you?  My all time favorite trail!

And Beacon Rock...I assume you went to the top of the rock but you must have done more than just that.

You hit some awesome areas!

Did Smith Rock State Park (south River loop ---> Mesa Verde over Monkey Face ---> Burma Trail loop ---> Monkey Face again) in Bend.  We hiked Eagle Creek to Tunnel Falls - beautiful and surprisingly sketchy.  Beacon Rock was a modified version of the 25k course.  Basically up to the ridge, down around to the Mt. Ham trail to the peak, but then down Don's Cutoff to the Equestrian trail instead of wrapping around the north end for a couple miles.  It was incredible and I'm ready to move to the PNW.

You hit all the highlights Mike.  Great choices.  Eagle Creek would be tough trail to run...I hiked it.  I hope you went just a bit past Tunnel Falls.  All the descriptions say to turn around there but if you go a bit further there is an island in the middle of the creek that splits the water and when it joins back up it create two water falls that flow over/under each other.  It's my favorite place to sit and relax and refuel.

Oh...and you would have driven past one of our carrot seed fields on your drive from Smith Rock to Cascade Locks.  It would have been on the east side of the highway not long before you arrived in the impressive town of Madras.

Let me know when you move to the PNW!
