Compression socks vs sleeves? Empty Compression socks vs sleeves?

So I'm thinking of getting some sleeves hoping it will help with my intermittent calf issues.  Guy at the store tells me most runners use the compression socks and not the sleeves.  So, those of you that use or have used them, do you prefer the sleeves or the full socks - and why.  Seems like I could get away with multiple runs on the sleeves but would be needing to wash the socks after every run...  And I have tons of socks that I like.

I use socks because I have more achilles issues than calf issues and they grip the back of my heel where my achilles issue is (it is low).  I've never tried the sleeves but I run with people who swear by them.

I have worn the sleeves for years - especially for long runs past 10 miles.
They feel great after a long run too.
I will also wear them on my long flight to Poland in a few weeks.

I'm struggling with inner shin / calf pain and have been using the sleeves.  I thought about the socks but I would want to wash them between runs.  The sleeves don't get sweaty or smelly and I usually run in them multiple times (usually at least a week, if not more) before I finally wash them.  They don't solve the actual problem but I think they do reduce the pain / soreness.

I wear the CEP compression socks full length and also the ones that only go up over my ankles. The other thing that I love wear and really help with overall body recovery is the 2XU full length compression tights. Love them. Again, as far as the compression socks go I really like the CEP.

I have both. Like the full length for achilles support. they are a bit warm so I like them for winter running and recovery. If I'm having tight calves I've worn the sleeves in the summer.

But couldn't finding out the root cause and work those areas make needing the socks or sleeves unnecessary? Neutral

Last year, my calves were fit to be tied because of the shoes I had.  Changed shoes and worked the muscles during PT, then I was fine (even PR'd).
