Re: Your Week in Training July 29 - Aug 4
Week 3 of recovery phase
I was a bit creaky after last week's escapade, so I made sure to not push it harder this week.
Mon: 2.4 miles hiking
Tue: 2.2 miles walking
Wed: Rest
Thu: 3.1 miles barefoot
Fri: Rest
Sat: Rest
Sun: 5.3 miles barefoot
Week: 13 miles
The ankles seem better at the end of the week, but I'm going to keep it nice and easy for now.

Re: Your Week in Training July 29 - Aug 4
Ok week, but not great. Had a back issue on Wed and it reappeared on Thurs so I lessened my weekly mileage so as not to get injured as I have pacing duties coming up soon.
Mon - Off
Tues - 5 miles with 8 x hill; Core work
Wed - 4 miles (supposed to be 6) but stopped when back seized
Thurs - 5 miles, but still not right and my hip was bugging me too
Fri - 40 miles cycling
Sat - 2.7 mile walk with the family. (I had a runner's number, so I came in DFL in my AG!)
Sun - 13 miles. Back and hip felt fine. Started slow and finished faster, averaged the 9:30 pace that I have to run on 8/18
WTD: 29.7 miles running; 40 miles cycling

Re: Your Week in Training July 29 - Aug 4
Week 8 of Chicago marathon training, I was fortunate to be able to run in several trails in Alaska most days. On Saturday, there was a 10K race so I entered it and ran MP miles though the day was supposed to be 10 easy miles, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Good thing they didn't have a marathon that day.

Good thing you're a lawyer and not an accountant! You shorted yourself 7 miles. Should be 59 and you had a better week than you thought!

Whoo hoo! Geez, that's embarrassing. It wasn't like I do the weird things other do here of saying 7.27 miles and 8.13! Just adding five 7s together (35) plus an 8 plus a 16. How 35 plus 8 plus 16 became 52 instead of 59 is embarrassing indeed. But yea, I ran 7 more miles!

You only do tenths...that's not too crazy. I won't name names but here's a snippet from a Deadhead who lives in Chicago:
Results: Time 1 hour 32 minutes, distance 12.31 miles, pace 7:29, Avg. HR 72%, Training Effect 2.5
Ha ha!

Don't worry Schuey, I used to post that type of detail, too. Seems like the best of us do
