I wasn't sure what to expect, but this is a really awesome response. I will still work my butt off to run a fast time in Indianapolis (maybe Wendy can chase me?), but wow, I can run in 2014 without a time. This certainly takes the pressure off for Sunday.

You are receiving this email because you have been identified as a 2013 Boston Marathon participant who reached at least the half-marathon mark on April 15 but who did not cross the finish line on Boylston Street.

B.A.A. Extends Special Invitation To 2013 Boston Marathon Starters Who Did Not Cross Boylston Street Finish Line

The B.A.A. is extending an invitation to register for the 2014 Boston Marathon to official entrants in the 2013 Boston Marathon who were unable to cross the Boylston Street finish line.

To be eligible for this special offer, a 2013 Boston Marathon participant must have been an official entrant who started the race and who reached at least the half marathon mark in this year's race on Monday, April 15.

In early August, you will receive a non-transferable unique code via email. This email will outline a specific timeframe for you to register. Your entry will be guaranteed only during a designated registration period in August.

You will be required to pay an entry fee, which has yet to be determined.

Seeding details have yet to be determined and will be forthcoming.

An additional note from the B.A.A.: The opportunity to run down Boylston Street and to cross the finish line amid thousands of spectators is a significant part of the entire Boston Marathon experience. With this invitation to return and participate in 2014, we look forward to welcoming you back to Boston next year. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through the details of arranging this accommodation.

Please confirm receipt of this email by clicking here.

You are responsible for providing any changes to your email address prior to August 1.

Yeah we were reading about this online this morning. One of the options was to have the people who didn't finish start after the 3 waves goes off. I'm getting to ready to go run with Chris now (Dave-O was suppose to come also but he is stuck in court) but I will have Lisa post the link.

Thanks, Schuey. I would bet that we also have the option of submitting a qualifying time, and like others in the race, submit a faster time until they assign the waves. This takes the pressure off me for this weekend (since it is supposed to be warm), and now I can really focus on my goal race in Indy in the Fall.

Hope your run was/is fun!

Seems to me that the BAA is handling this right.
