And no, I do not mean fast twitch Smile

I know that I have posted this before, but I have tried almost everything to make my post-run calf twitching go away...Alas, to no avail. Remedies I have tried include epsom, enzymes, and calcium. Anything else that out there that I could try? I am not too worried, as my calves have always seemed twitch after a run. The twitching normally lasts all day. I posted a video of my calf twitching this morning below.

That's wild, Nick. How's your hydration? That can be correlated with muscle twitching, as well.

Hydration has never really been an issue...I hydrate before, during, and after.

Vitamin D deficiency causing low calcium supply to the calcium cycle causing... Muscle twitches. Drink milk.

Edit to add: you can add calcium all day long, but without vitamin D it wom't get utilized.

Your body may just need extra vitamin D. That is the most likely cause.

I am not sure how much more milk I can drink. Do you think that vitamin D supplements would be useful?

It's worth a shot, and they're pretty inexpensive.

Your drink Vitamin D milk, I presume, and not whole milk or the organic stuff?

I had that same thing recently as my calf was pulsating. It's rare I get it and if you rarely get it I would not be concerned about Deficiencies.

My husband takes Vitamin D supplements and he drinks plenty of milk. Apparently a deficiency is not all that uncommon. You can find out if that is the issue with a blood test.

Nick, I'm pretty sure most people who don't live in pretty sunny climates are vitamin D deficient. I take a supplement in addition to trying to be out in the sun for at least some of the day. I hope you find the solution soon.

Being outside in the sunlight gets you 1,000 IU of vitamin D every 6 minutes.

I think so, but the issue is for those that are vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D modulates calcium metabolism, which affects your bone health and muscle function. The contraction and relaxation of your muscles occurs in response to nerve stimulation that triggers rapid calcium flow between compartments within your muscle cells. If you have low levels of vitamin D, your body can't absord the calcium needed for the muscles.
