Bayshore, who will still be there?
Who plans to be at Bayshore? Any plans for a get together either before or after the race?
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
I'll be there. First time at Bayshore. I believe in the past Lisa has mentioned a place everyone goes to after the race.

I found her old thread and NorthPeak Brewpub was mentioned, which is one of my favorite Traverse City locations.
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
I'll be there, but to be honest, not sure if I can make it to a post race get together, though I'll try if something is put together. I'll have the entire family, and we're staying at a waterpark, so I know the kids will be itching to get there rather than a brewery.

I'll be there. Probably won't do anything after the race. My wife's coming with me and we'll be heading over to Torch Lake as soon as the race is over. Maybe we can make dinner early Friday night. We're staying at Schuss Mtn. Thursday, TC Friday, then back to Schuss Saturday night.

Here is the runner tracking link. I don't know if it gives splits or just the finish: http://m.timing.runningfitsites.com/?eventid=17
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
Since we have to wait for the kids to get out of school Friday we'll be arriving late Friday night with the time zone loss. Staying at the Days Inn .6 mi from the start so ready for anything post race. We are doing the 10K so I'll be watching for you all finishing the half and full. Let us know about any gathering.

Does everyone usually just hop on the shuttle buses to get to the starting line?

Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
I'm either taking the shuttle from the Holiday Inn or walking the one mile to the start because I promised my husband that he could sleep in. I'm not thrilled with the 5am pickup time, but I suppose I'll live. I'll get lots of stretching and time for breakfast well before the race that way.

I have always driven to the school, then got on the HM bus that drives us out to the HM start. But this year I'll probably just walk/jog from my hotel, Travel Lodge, and let my wife sleep in. The last shuttle to HM start leaves around 6:15....

Hopefully everyone kills it in their races. I'll be at the Holiday Inn more than likely taking the shuttle. I think I'm going to try and go to the dinner thing the night before although I didn't sign up.

Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
If anyone sees me come and say "hi." I will be easy to spot since I have a lucky race shirt with a picture of a pikachu and my name on the front and the back says "Pika Girl 26.2." Long story short, I collect pikachu items and the shirt is play on pikachu's 25 pokemon number (silly I know, LOL!).
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
Scattered rain storms on race day. Hope to meet a few of you there. We'll actually be there a bit earlier than originally anticipated since the kids are staying back with my eldest daughter who's in town. Now if i can get my better half away from her work station.

Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
I had a great race, was going for 4:30 and got 4:28:48. My old PR was 4:46:05. We are going to North Peak in a bit for beer. Not sure I would recognize anyone from here, but if anyone ends up there and think you see me come say hi! I am wearing the orange marathon race shirt and jeans with orange and brown flip flops. I will be with three non-runners.
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
Congrats on the new PR! Funny, after our 10K and 30 mi bike ride we ended up at North Peak (had the brew sampler then slept like a baby for 3hrs,) sorry we couldn't have met ya!carleenp wrote:I had a great race, was going for 4:30 and got 4:28:48. Awesome job on the PR Carleen. Way to go. Did you have the ice cream after? That was really good. Did you end up taking a bus from hotel? I took the 5am one. I had an afternoon flight so I couldn't make it. I ended up not seeing anyone other than recognizing Dave from his picture on the course knowing he'd be with the leaders. I'm not sure the Shuey's made it.

Congrats on the Marathon & 10K PR's! We had a real nice day to run. Nice meeting you after the race, Steve.

I was on the same bus! I skipped the ice cream after. I am told it was very good, but I was fixated on the orange slices!
Re: Bayshore, who will still be there?
Great job to everyone that ran this weekend! With me not running it and a ton of stuff to get done around the house, we decided last minute to utilize the long 4 day weekend to get a bunch of baby stuff done. We wish we could have been there to meet some of you. Hopefully we'll get to meet at another race!
