Good luck, Kenny - remember start slow and have a positive mental attitude. Trust your training.

Michele, I followed the plan to the tee. Felt great until 17 or so weather was 65 to 70. Although I felt capable I was not able to hold a 7:30 to 7:40 the remaining 9. Good news I was determined not to walk and keep running. Pulled a 3:33. Felt based on the temperature it was successful.
Ps no volunteering or suicides this time. I enjoyed the finish which was nice.
I think come Philly in November with cool weather 3:15 can happen and I did like your approach to the slower start for 6 miles. Thanks.

Running:
This weeks has been easy runs w/ tomorrow 6 miles as well on the easy side. Ill be adding some 1 mile repeats next week and tempo runs as I stay in recovery mode but also maintain fitness to try and PR at the belmar 5 mile in July.
In the meantime I did order McMillian Custom 20 week marathon training program and should have the schedule in 1-2 weeks based on the questionnaire I completed. I'm looking forward to something new and trusting whatever program he puts together for me. It will be interesting to see what it entails.
It looks like I will have schedule about 5 races between now and November
5 mile in July
5k in August
HM - september
10k October
Marathon November (phillly)
It would be nice to PR in all the above. I think I have a shot in all and maybe the 5k the most difficult to PR.
Vegan Rants
Still vegan and finding it a bit easier this past week with preparing foods and cooking. I have enjoyed some good homemade grub including Tempeh that I use marinate overnight and then pan fry. Yummy.

Speaking of tempeh... there's a restaurant chain down in southern California called Native Foods. The founder has a cookbook out. It's all pretty delicious stuff, especially the bowls. And many contain tempeh.

Re: Is this Blog For You?
It seems right now I am going to pursue training for the Philly Marathon.
July 2 I start training for Philly. In order to manage my time I might start a new blog just based on the training minus the personal and vegan rants. I have spent little time both on here and if less on Facebook and substitute it with some inner peace work and service.
Right now I am in recovery/rebuild phase incorporating some fast runs here and there like 3x1 mile at MP down to soon 5k pace. Hal tempo runs and some strides. everything else is recovery and the long run. Almost all my runs the pace has been on feel. Sometimes running slower that expected or faster. I guess it all evens out.

Nothing more frightening than a vegan rant!
Whatever you decide, keep up the good work.

Re: Is this Blog For You?
Temporary resurrection of my blog. Don't get too comfortable.
In my 8th week of Philly training (20 week program). All is well as my paces have become quicker and feel this is going to be a BQ year at philly.
I have a HM in Philly on the 16th of Sept to help judge where I am at. My Pr is 1:32 I will aim for 1:30ish. In the meantime I have been using McMillian's custom schedule and it ain't easy but it is refreshing.
Doing some continued service work for others and still a vegan without the ranting.
See you on the dark side, sucka's!

Re: Is this Blog For You?
I'm back with an entry. 18 miles tomorrow. Training going very good this cycle with paces considerably faster than last cycle for the most part. Avg. about 10-15 sec faster overall based on comparing last cycle to this cycle. Mileage in the 60's moving to 70+ and creeping to 80 soon.
Got a HM next weekend 16th in Philly should be exciting.
Other than that life's curiously entertaining. See you next time on the flip side bitcha's.
PS: I bought a nutribullet but I find mixing greens with my fruits in a liquid format to cause havoc on my stomach. Not sure if I am not used to it or what. But, I love it it's like a jet engine when it blends. Makes my vegan smoothies real smooth. Time to make some fresh almond butter.

I love my Vitamix for smoothies and add kale, spinach or whatever green leafy veggie we have to smoothies. I make sunbutter / sun flower seed butter in it, too.
Glad training is going well!

Re: Is this Blog For You?
Update:
Training is going very well. Did the LBI 18 mile race yesterday as a training run. 10 miles @ LSD 8:10 and last 8 miles @ 7:17 a bit faster than MP pace. It was mentally a tough run point to point and quite boring but I started dead last to make it interesting.
